Is there a rule about being drunk in the park?

Ok we will be there during FW and we want to try to avoid drunk people :rotfl: We will have our 10 year old with us. We were planning on arriving in the morning on a Monday and staying until about 5. Does anyone think this would be a safe time to go without to many people getting drunk or tipsy ?

I would think so. From all I've read on here Friday and Saturday seems to be the worst times since that's when the locals come out of the woodwork. Plus with MK being the park that always has the most people on Monday's you should be ok.

Yes it got worse at it got darker.

we have went to WDW back when there was no alcohol at all in any park. was mighty nice.

When there was only one park.

I'm in the "yes to alcohol" camp firmly, but am OK with it not being served in MK (although Be Our Guest would have more appeal if there were French wine). There's the bar at the Wave for that...

I'm obnoxious even when I get tipsy, so I'd probably get into some trouble if I drank at the parks. :rotfl2:

I'd imagine they base it on the behavior of the patron. They sell alcohol for a reason - so people can drink it.

I think you are the first person I ever heard admit that. :lmao: Most folks say, I can handle my liquor, people don't mind me!

The same way that I don't think I ever heard anyone say, You know I am a bad driver!

I don't know why they wouldn't sell. It's just like a sporting event. It's a great way for them to make a very good profit. As long as everyone is over 21 and not hurting anyone it should be ok.

Anyhoo again, I'm excited to go there and try a few drinks from around the world.

Many sporting events have a cutoff for alcohol. I know with hockey, at least at my local arena, is the beginning of the third period. Trying to get people sobered up before driving.

I don't know about not hurting one. People tend to do stupid things when drunk. Like try to get out of a moving boat.

I don't oppose alcohol sales, I just don't like seeing people drunk to the point of being obnoxious or out of control. At some point security needs to step in.

I think a few dinks in relax mode are fine but if you get to a point your a loud drunk it shows pretty bad judgement and stupidity considering you know there are kids present. Just like the idiots at NFL and other sport games they get so drunk everyother word iss the F word with kids around I see that being the lowest class there is!

One of my favorite parts of my last trip to Disney was trying to accomplish beers around the world... and then liquors around the world the next day ;)

We started in Canada and went all the way around. I will admit I was pretty drunk by the time we got done. The gf tapped out around Japan I think and then just sipped whatever I had after that. She doesnt even remember the last few countries :sad2: We did have a great time, but we also kept to ourselves and made sure we were respectful.

My advice: Just keep constantly reminding yourself that you are in Disney World. I had a lot of fun... but the entire time I had the burning thought in the back of my head about making sure I "preserve the magic" for whatever little kids happen to be running around. These parks are fun for us adults... but they are lasting memories for the kids running around at your feet. As long as you dont get too drunk to the point where you can forget that, you shouldn't have an issue.

Also, just abide by the normal tips of drinking in a social setting... Make sure you hydrate (with water!), have a few snack breaks and dont let any other stupid goals get in the way of making the right choice. None of the "but I had to try that last bottle of wine" stuff.

Best way to take a breather is to stop in one of the pavilions for a show and dont start back up again until you finish an entire non-alcoholic beverage (water, gatorade, etc).
