MY DS is only 18 months old so the MK would be too much for him, but I would love to go and see the parade and fireworks at night and I know he would love it too. I just don't want to pay the full admission for this. Is there a reduced rate if you go later in the day?

No, unfortunatley Disney does not offer that kind of ticket. Regardless of what time it is the ticket purchase would be at full price.

I my opinion, 18 months is a great age for MK. I took my 15 month old 2 weeks ago and he liked it. He watched all the colors and activity and at his age, was too young to be scared on rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and HM. The only things he couldn't ride were the "mountains" but everything else he was able to do. He especially liked being able to play with the gun on Buzz Lightyear.

I could be wrong on this, But aren't children under 2 years old free? Or is this just for the hotels?

Yes children under two are free... I took the question as she does not want to pay for a full ticket for herself since she thought it would be to longof a day for her child.

You are correct. I was speaking about a ticket for an adult. I am aware that two and under are free.

Technically, there is such a ticket... but it's only available to convention attendees. Also, they cost only slight less than a standard full day ticket.

For what it is worth, I think 18mos is a good age to take in a number of the attractions

The only hours related reduced rate ticket I know of is the Epcot After 4 which I think is for FL residents

I want to add that back in Oct we took my 17 mo old neice to MK. Epcot and MGM. She loved certain things. Didn't care for others. But she did sooo good in the parks. She would go to sleep in her stroller when she was tired. (She only had one melt down and it was brief). She loved the parades, Ride like Pooh and IASW. She LOVED the HISTK playset. She liked some characters but not all. She liked the fireworks. She even did Fantasmic-- she didn't fuss but she spent most of the time on my lap with her back to the show playing w/ my necklace. So this was a factor. We went the attitude that if anything became too much for her, we'd leave. But thankfully not much really came to that. We did leave Indiana Jones. And we stayed in the parks from opening to closing.

If you decide to go. Bring lots and lots of sunscreen. Lots of extra clothes and lots of snacks. Be flexible. Just today DH and I took her to the mall. When she see's the Disney store she goes nuts. She LOVES Minnie, Tigger and Pooh. None of which she cared for prior to going to Disney!!
