Is there a reason why they couldn't just put mid-elevators behind the stage on the Wish?

Am I missing something here? I haven't seen any shows being done on the stage, just character meet and greets so depth behind the curtain should not have been issue. Why could they not have elevators that just had no windows overlooking the atrium if they wanted the stage area so bad?

Because those elevators need to also fit on every other deck. That's a lot of space lost to elevators. And then it would be silly to keep the current fore/aft elevator locations because they would all be too close. So, move them back to where they were and then you have awkward situations like elevators in the middle of Cabanas or disrupting Quiet Cove.

Looking at deck plans, it looks like that if they had put elevators where you suggested it would take out hallways on Decks 3, 4, and 5. and would be close to the aft elevator banks. On Deck 3, it would be right in the middle of the 1923 restaurant & hallway.

So depending on where your suite is will determine how far a walk you have to one of the two banks. I've got one dead center of the ship so I'm near both and will take the one that will get me closest to where I'm going on the ship.
