Is there a point in closing the debate board if all the debates are just going to take place here on the CB?

I didn't mind the DB...posted there myself fairly frequently, and I am not sure why it was closed.

But, if the same peole are going to post the same debates over here on the CB, it would seem to me that the DB should be reopened.

IMO, it does seem kind of silly to close the DB for the main reason stated. That is it didn't "fit". I believe that was the reason given but not the real cause.

The CB is like a blender full of stuff on high speed. Very hard to follow threads without subscribing.

If the mods are more strict with the posters here on the CB and don't let things get out of hand, then there's no reason (except for lack of volunteers) not reopen the DB and do the same.

"All the debates" are not taking place here. There are way fewer debates on this board than there would be on the DB. The debates here are not just being started by former DBers, some are being started by folks who complained about the closing of the DB and finally the subjects appear to be more "mainstream" and the answers more civil

I think the "blending" has gone rather smoothly but then I'm not a mod or webmaster. Maybe one of them can let us know how it's going.

I don't notice that many debates going on here in the CB. If the administrators of this website don't want a debate board, then so be it. It's no big deal. If people are really itching to debate something, they can post it here. I guess the point is that it's not our decision to make.
