I heard a while back that there is some sort of pin trading instruction where afterwards the kids get a free pin? Is that still going on? I think it used to be held where Buzz is now...

I have never heard of this before. When I go to the park this weekend I'll ask one of the cast members.

Not sure if it is still going on but it used to be at The Little Green Men shop when it was called something else. It's the pin trading shop next to Buzz. The class was great. You had to sign up, then at the scheduled time a CM sat with all the kids (adults too) and explained the history and rules of pin trading. Throughout the talk, there were trivia questions and each person got a magic egg that you couldn't open until the end. The CM was so great at making sure that every kid got an egg, even some adults got them too. At the end, we opened the eggs and there was a pin inside. The CM then uncovered a huge board full of pins. Everyone got to trade if they wanted to. I think my son and I ended up with 4 pins in total.

We have not located this class yet this trip. I think it's probably gone. :(

Sorry but last time I was at DL they told me they were no longer having this class. If you are needing instructions/rules on pin trading you can find them at the Disney pin trading web site tho. It was fun to go to the class and the kids got a couple traders for later in the day....and I even got a trader for answering a question right!

there is a "Come trade with us" session with CMs at DCA on the weekends I think. Friday and Saturday from 2:30~4:30pm. Don't quote me on this tho. I found out last saturday while I was there.
Basically there are 3 or 4 CMs with vest, and books ready to trade with you.
My only word of caution "Be careful of some traders.".
They can get real excited and forget all types of manners when they see some pins.
And before I get flamed, I am a pin trader and I see some people with discouraging manners while I was there.

anyways, if you want to check it out and see if you like it.
Just be careful and don't be surprised if you see some bad manners.
