This isn't really a resort question, but I guessed the answer would be of most interest to resort guests. Is there a pharmacy/drug store in WDW? I know that some of these items can be bought in the resort store, but I'm wondering if there is something more substantial without going outside WDW

If not, what is the closest pharmacy/drug store outside of WDW?

I am not sure if there is an actual pharmacy inside Disney property but I can tell you my experience. Last August my mother developed a sun blister on her lip from the sun. We did not have a rental car so I called the front desk of The Contemporary. They connected me to a pharmacy that delivered the over the counter medicine right to the front desk of the resort (for a fee, of course). It was also there within 2 hours.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! This is perfect for anything I would need. :flower3:

DD is just getting over the worst chest cold and also has asthma -- so sick that she was wondering if we would pack the cough syrup (like I want to pack some sticky liquid that we are unlikely to use in my luggage!) Plus, even if I take tylenol and motrin, I know that if she really came down with something I would soon run out.

my mom forgot her meds.... she contacted the front desk and she had her doc fax her script and they delievered them. (if i remember right it was expensive but worth it!!)

Turner Drug. If you are in a park, First Aid has contact information; in your resort, as indicated above, contact the Front Desk for assistance.

They charge $5 to deliver prescriptions (along with, reportedly, any item they sell). They do not, to the best of my recollection, take insurance - you would need to make full payment then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement - if, of course, your policy includes prescription coverage.
