Is there a night time version of EE?

I was reading in the Unofficial Guide and it mentioned that during 2004 they were experimenting with a type of "Resort Guests Only" admittance to certain parks in the evening after they close to the general public. It stated that it was like EE in that it wouldn't cost extra money to attend but the parks were open for an extra 3 hours instead of the morning version 1 hour.

It said that is was for "select" resorts and that it rotated between all four parks just like EE.

What resorts were included in the "select" category and are they still trying this?

I remember doing something like this around the 25th anniversary time. It was $10 per person, and they asked us at the front desk if we wanted the tickets. They only had I think 1,000 tickets to give out for the whole thing. Some of the shops were open late too on main street, and I believe they were open till 12 or 1 am.

They tested this, no charge, for about 2 weeks in May, 2004. Guests seemed to like it, but unfortunately, there's been no word since as to what permanent change might occur. So as of now, no they're not trying this. Would love to see it, though.

I was there for those 2 weeks in May and it was just the best!!!! Mind you the earliest I was ever able to get to a park for morning extra hours...was about 5 minutes before it was over (NOT a morning person) So for people like us it was great! And I liked being able to be in the parks after it got dark....its so cool, and such a different atmosphere. I REALLY hope they bring it back

Universal lets people that stay in their hotels to go to the front of the line. This would be a good way to let Disney Resort guests to get special treatment without the general public being at a loss.

We did this on our honeymoon July2002. We bought tickets for an evening in the MK. Don't remember the cost, but all the "popular" rides were open. And MUCH less crowded!!

At Universal this policy puts the general public at a tremendous loss, and I make a point of not going to Universal if it looks like a busy time of year.

Universal has kiosks like Fastpass kiosks and because of the resort guest front of the line policy, the kiosks become sold out much quicker.

I was not suggesting that Disney adopt Universal policy of Resort Guests to the front of the line. I would like to see them open certain parks to Resort Guests for three hours after they close at no extra charge. That wouldn't cheat the general public in the least.

When they tested this in May, I think it was better than e-night, everything was open late rather than only selected rides. It included all 4 parks, not just MK.
