Is there a MAY no buy/$0/spend less thread?

Hi Mis Britt...I'm in. I've missed the No-Buy threads. I need them to keep me on track.
My goal is to have 15 No-Buy days.
I'll post my break down later.

5/1- $0 :cheer2:
5/2- $89.44 groceries (saved 72.67) 130.56 left

I'll join you!! I'm really trying to step up my savings for the rest of this year (for Disney, of course), and in order to do that, I need to not buy anything. What a revelation. :lmao:

Anyhow, here's how it looks so far:

5/1: $0

5/2: $25 for a Disney gift card to go into my savings!! :cool1:

5/3: $0 And I'm not planning on leaving my house. LOL

Hi there! I'm new to the boards, and the title of this thread caught my attention.

So the goal here is to help each other not spend money? Are there any rules/guidelines for participation? It's not like I'll be taking part in spending less this month since I'm doing an ABD trip, but next month I'll definitely need to be thinking about spending less to save for the next excursion!

Welcome Diane!

Steph, it's whatever you would like it to be. Some people choose to not spend any money on X number of days (consolidating trips etc), set a budget for discretionary spending, reduce debt, etc. No rules really. Most people check in every day or 2 to.keep on track. No ome will shame you if you set a goal but don't meet it. ;-)

Make sure to turn off all your automatic payments so you don't accidentiall spend money.

We have nine days until Disney. We have groceries and gas to last until we leave. Here's hoping I can spend nothing until then!:littleangel:

I'm jumping on board. I'm about to quit my job and we are moving next year so I need to save the money. My goal: 15 $0 days (excluding gas), fast food/eat out only once per week (except my work trip this weekend). I am also going to try to only buy things I "need" (vs wants). So far I know there will be groceries and camping supplies and printer ink, but I'm hoping that will be it.

5/1: $0
5/2: Shopping - $2.11 Snack for Kids; $75.32 Mostly Groceries at Target; $60.03 REI (Above mentioned camping supplies and 1 pair kids sandals on sale); $46.40 "Educational Supplies"; $8.69 Fast Food Dinner
5/3: $0
5/4: $0 (other than gas)
5/5: $23.25 REI (more camping supplies); $14.09 drinks (no dinner, yay!)

Total so far. 3 $0 days, 1 needs only buying day, and 1 day buying way to much.

When we went out Thursday (5/2) I realized I need to run errands earlier in the day and/or bring a snack with us. I ended up shelling out for a snack because it was snack time and they were hungry AND dinner because they were hungry again and it was either go home and make dinner and have to miss the last store (that we really needed to go to) or eat out.

I'm in! :thumbsup2

Turns out my insurance ends at the end of this month and the replacement one is going to take exactly half of my paycheck every month! Yikes! :scared1: not to mention somehow finding money to finish my M.S. degree in Dec...but one day at a time!

5/1: $250 hospital copayment (had to have major surgery )
5/2: $0 for me lots for insurance :lmao:
5/3: $0 for me, lots of friends bought me fruit and such to get better
5/4: $0 recovering...no need to spend :cool1:
5/5: $0 recovering...:cool1:
5/6: $0 still recovering..hey recovering helps my bank account! :cool1:

Welcome to everyone joining!!

I'm new! So ill just start from today... Since I had rough start to this month and can't remember what I bought. My goal is 15 days with spending no money other than bills. And no more than $150 for extras. Going on vacation at the end of the month.
May 5th-$100.00 on groceries ( single so hoping if will last the whole month) going to work on eating what I have in my fridge and pantry.
May 6th- $5.00 went to lunch with the bosses and tipped the waiter.

I've had a really rough start to this month, so I'm jumping in. Shooting for 15 no spend days. Afraid that's going to be easier said than done though :(

5/3 - 377.64 - paid off hospital bill for cardiac procedure in April (glad it's paid off, but ouch!)
5/4 - $35 - Old Navy (baby shower present for my cousin this weekend)
5/5 - $94 - Kroger - ($50 gift cards for mom and sister for Mother's Day, but I did get 4x fuel rewards for them and $44 groceries)
5/6 - $61 - JC Penny (b-day present for my cousin (more like my nephew), also for this weekend and 3 clearance t-shirts for my actual nephews)
- $20 prescriptions
- $17 dinner out with a friend
- $13 - Target - diapers and wipes to go with above baby shower present for this weekend.

See, I told you it's been a horrible start to the month! Even if it was mostly unavoidable. Time to get back on track though!

I'm going to start too! I don't remember the things I bought so i'll just start from today! Shooting for 13 no spend days!
:cool1:

5/7- Health food store- $7.00
Pretzel place - $3.00 (a girls gotta eat)
Shoprite - $10.00

Thank you for starting a new thread!!:cheer2::cheer2: I've missed these. (You'd think I could do it on my own, but I'm better when I feel like I'm accountable - even if it's to total strangers:lmao:.)

My Goals:

Have 15 No Buy Days

So far, I have three! I probably have to get them done by May 22, though, because I leave the 23rd to go see family for a couple weeks.

5/1 - $0
5/2 - $0
5/3 - $18.20 QFC
5/4 - $0
5/5 - $0
5/6 - $0
5/7 - $0

Two more days to go till Friday... :crazy2:

5/5~ $18.68 Lunch before seeing my cousin graduate college
5/6~ $0
5/7~ $23.45 lunch out and $207.88 at Target

My target trip today was a well planned stock up trip to use a 5% off pharmacy reward plus a ton of coupons. I saved $75.
