is there a free dining watch thread for fall?

The availability on the free dining promotion changes all the time. There may not be a standard beach club room available when the promotion opens. After everyone who has a standard beach club room changes to something else because they want free dining, you may find that they become available in the next couple of days. So don't forget to check back frequently to see if you can get what you want.
 
Hoping for FD last week of Oct
Any advice on booking multiple rooms? This is our first trip with both sides of grandparents. We will need three rooms.Would you call or log in and should one person try and do all the reservations?

I find its easier for one person to it all. I book a room for my parents and room for us online as soon as it's released. I later call and have them linked together.

that is my plan too, I need to book 2 rooms, 1 for my family and one for my sister's.
If there is an advance booking window for Disney Visa card holders then calling will be the only option.

I have a question if I already booked and my time falls within the Free Dining (assuming availability) will my dining reservations I already booked also transfer over?
Yep, no problem there. We have done it before. You have to have a reservation to make dining reservations early, but you don't have to keep it to keep your dining reservations, so if you wind up changing your reservation it doesn't affect your ADRs.

1. ADR's (dining reservations) are separate from your room reservation and booking. They are not affected by any changes to your reservations.
2. You must check in on a free dining day to get free dining , usually 3 night minimum.
3. You can split stay if you do not check in on a FD day , ( recheck in on a new reservation when FD begins at the same or different resort.) you may have to actually move your room even at the same resort.
4. You cannot add FD to existing reservations, you must cancel and rebook.
5. Credits for FD are added to your MB at check in.
6. You can use them for the full time of your reservation including check out day (load up on snacks if you have extra)
7. 2 credits can be used for many signature dining facilities....often a great deal!

Thanks for the info, but number 4 is incorrect. I am a Travel Agent and I just called to check on a clients reservation that I made for November. I was told that you can just modify the reservation. You do not have to cancel and rebook. You do, however, have to call in. You cannot modify it on our TA portal.

Right, I've done this many times myself online including last year ( not a TA). I have NEVER had to cancel and rebook to get FD.

Just curious what resorts are already booking up for Fall? I've only been checking the moderates but there is still a lot of availability in November. Are the Deluxes and values booking up?

There are no offers at the moment, but I wonder if we can add Free Dining there instead of calling and being on hold for hours the day it is released. www4afam...how did you add Free Dining to your existing reservation? I never tried to do that. Did you just pull up your reservation and had an option to add it? Please let me know. Thanks so much!
 
Scard, Thanks for doing the work to collate all this helpful information! And good news for me, the week we hope to travel (Dec 14-21) is included in the historical FD deals! Fingers crossed and watching carefully! The hard part is not jumping to get reservations now....

When (or if) an offer comes out if the first date of their reservation is within the eligible dates of any offer you should be able to use the edit option and it will list any offers available/applicable to the timeframe of the stay. Remember though that they are based on availability though so free dining or a room discount can only be added IF available.

Thanks so much. I will keep an eye out and try to modify her reservation. I just don't understand why so many agents call in and sit and wait on the phone for 5 hours trying to modify all of there clients if we are able to do this on our TA portal. Unless they book thru a different vendor like GoGo Tours. I do see an option to modify several things, including the package. It states that there are no offers for her time (Nov) so I will hope and cross fingers I can get any sort of discount for her.
