Is there a forum for Florida residents who live close?

We live about 40 minutes away. Though we sometimes stay on property for fun (if there are great deals), we most often drive over for a few hours. Is there a forum for those of us that do this? Our "version" of the WDW experience is different from many. For instance, we often just go over after school on a Friday, have dinner, do a few things, and head home. A forum that addresses these "super short visits" would be neat!

We don't have anything like that. Sounds like you would be a great person to help out those that are planning their trips. And if you post on the Planning Boards you can just specify that you live close or are just planning to go for the evening if you have questions. We do have lots of posters that live close.

Hey Nancy!

I live about 15 minutes from Magic Kingdom so I totally understand those super short trips that last just a few hours! My mom and I also head over just for dinner and a parade.

I think you had a great idea for starting a specific thread for people who live cose as many of us do experience the parks in a totally different way than those who come for days on end!

Great idea for a thread - I live 30 minutes away and stopped off at AK last night for dinner at Flame Tree Barbecue. Love their 1/2 chicken with slaw & beans. AK is completely transformed at night. They were open til 8pm for NY eve. The lighting on the Tree of Life & Everest was incredible.

Hi All!

There's a thread in Adult and Single travelers. I think it's called Florida Residents unite. It was pretty active for a while, but has been quiet in December.
We just moved here in September so I'm learning new ways to enjoy the parks too. Love to see a thread for this and maybe a way to get together with others who drop in and out of the parks on a whim.:cool1:
We went last night to MK just for the early fireworks and parade then zoomed over to the Poly for the NYE fireworks from the beach. They were AWESOME!!

I live in Lakeland too. I take my DD5 over all the time. I have met some other people there from lakeland also so I am sure its a common occurance.

Very cool! Where in Lakeland? We live in the Lake Morton historic district. We know tons of people who have season passes and are in Lakeland. Can't wait to get started again!
