Is there a downside to the last reservation at a character buffet?

I am considering Chef Mickey's for our arrival day but the only available time for dinner is too late - it will be a long travel day and I don't want our 4 yr old out late that night. So I'm considering brunch at 2:25 but it closes at 2:30.

Will the characters still be there?

Thanks

I think you will actually get more time with the characters because there will be less people there!

I've experienced this a few times, but not at Chef Mickey's. In our experiences, the characters are there, and our servers were very good about making sure we saw the characters.
The food was also fresh and replenished.

We have seen it where it is very empty and relaxing, but we have also had a closing time brunch that was chaotic and busy (the buffet was chaotic and busy).
In both situations, we got to interact with the characters twice.

We've done that at 1900 Park Fare. Had a late (11am?) breakfast reservation (they don't serve lunch). Food was hot and fresh, they were still topping up food when we left.
There was so much character interaction.. they didn't have anything else to do, it was great! Best memory... my kids playing ring-a-round-the-rosie with Pooh AND Tigger!IMG_0410.JPGIMG_0411.JPG

We had a later reservation at Garden Grill but were seated almost an hour late, so it was near closing before we sat down. That character interaction was the highlight of the trip. Pluto "licked" and rolled around with the kids. Mickey danced around with each child. Dale sat down at our table and colored with my daughter. Truly awesome experience. All characters came around more than once - almost to the point where we didn't even eat without one nearby!

We always book late ADRs especially breakfasts. Like others said the characters spend more time, it's less crowded.

The characters will be there until they have seen everyone. Often as there are fewer people in the restaurant, you spend plenty of time with the characters. Last trip at O'hana, Stitch actually came and sat at our table for awhile. Mickey and Pluto kept coming by (there were 5 families in the restaurant and the characters just kept going between us) At one point, we had all three at our table just "playing". It was plenty of fun.

As for the food, they will make sure there is plenty of food on the buffet. They might run out of one or two things but you won't go hungry and it will be hot.

Same here. If we do a breakfast, we always time it for later so we don't need a meal again till dinner time.

1900 Park Fare is my favorite, and we've had nothing but great experiences there even with the last ADR time of the day.

We have never had a issue not getting to see a character they usually always make sure you have seen them all before you leave.

Does anyone know is there a park that is easiest to travel to and from the Floridian for 1900 Fare reservation that day? Thank you!!
