Just wondering, I have only stayed in the Villas, never the hotel rooms. Since we are members I didnt see the need to stay anywhere else. But now my sister is thinking of coming and she has only stayed in the hotel rooms.
Besides the housekeeping thing, are the interior of the studios the same as the hotel rooms? Is there a size difference or layout? Im only thinking about the studios not the 1 and 2 bedrooms.
Thanks

Yes. She will only have one real bed and a sleeper sofa. Not two real beds. Only OKW has two real beds in the studio.

She'll have a microwave and toaster, not just a coffee pot and small refrigerator. The refrigerator in the studio is a bit larger. The coffee pot is also larger in the studio. Disney hotel rooms have a Cuisenart pod style coffee pot that makes a cup at a time. DVC villas have the Mr Coffee style, flat basket filter (you need to bring filters).

Thanks Deb and Bill, those are not any huge differences, so go with the cheaper option of the villas and she will survive. Not a fan of Kurigs anyway.;)

You do not mention resort but as a general matter the WDW DVC's that also have a hotel have hotel rooms that are different from the studios. They are typically somewhat larger, themed somewhat differently, have more plush and better furniture, have two queens and some also a separate little couch, rather than the queen pull out couch arrangement that villas other than OKW have, and do not have the kitchenette but will have a little refrigerator.

If you want to see how much they differ take a look at walk throughs of the rooms on you tube, e.g., for Boardwalk compare the inn room https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2Bmkg1Nw_0 to the studio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWfVGH7xaws

Depending on the resort, some DVC studios have very little storage space. A hotel room will have a closet and dresser. The DVC studio may have little to no drawer space and possibly very little space to hang up clothes. Other DVC studios do not have this problem, it depends on the resort.
