I have wondered who makes the Promaster lenses since they appear to be store brand lenses.

The consensus from what I have read is it depends on the model of the lens some are Tokina and others maybe Tamron.

On a side note the Ritz store brand seems to be re-branded Quantaray made by Sigma.

i have a phoenix lens that is also sold as vivitar, promaster and cosina if that helps. i heard they were made by cosina but couldn't find a cosina in the US, just the others
