We just returned from a split stay with a moderate resort (CBR) and a deluxe (AKL).
Aside from decor, theming, views, and services, is there a difference in actual room quality? Are the mattresses really better quality at deluxe resorts or do they use the same ones? Are the showers better quality at deluxes?
I say yes! The mattress seemed way more comfy at AKL and water pressure much better in the shower. DBF didn't notice a difference and says I might just think that because I caught caught up in the more upscale decor.
Anyone have any thoughts or insight?

Hard as a brick. My back was aching during the entire trip and I got the lousiest sleep of my life. Some people say they're so tired out from the parks that the mattresses don't matter but for me they do.
I tossed and turned all night and practically felt every spring.
I didn't even realize how cranky I wasn't the following morning after sleeping on their mattresses.
We found them just as comfy AKL, but the 'real' deluxes (Poly,GF,CR) have even more comfy beds - especially GF. Those beds were incredible.
It was our first deluxe but still -- it was so comfortable and wonderful. We recently stayed at Beach Club and did not feel the same. We were quite a bit disappointed and would consider that a "lite deluxe" if it weren't for the outstanding pool! We would stay again just for the pool, but the room was not very comfortable -- especially the daybed, which we definitely needed. Our 14-yr-old daughter was too tall for that bed (and she was only 5'2"). It is simply a wooden bench with a styrofoam cushion. Not very comfortable at all. Anyway, I am glad to hear about the FQ being comfy.
