My DH made some homemade liquor this week called Hot Apple Pie (so good). He bought some nice bottles from a homebrew place but didn't see any labels. I know we can just buy some big labels and write on them, but wondered if anyone had ever found a site to do this at where there is clip art and examples? My printer stinks, but I guess I could always use the one at work. :)

We wanted to give them out as part of Christmas presents. Thanks!

You can have custom labels made by some of the sellers on Etsy.com
I went to the website and typed in "Custom Bottle Labels" and there are lots of cute options.

I know that there are places that we found for my Ds wedding. Just do a goolge search , there were alot. I also think that Vista Print had some.

I would suggest going to www.avery.com which is the largest manufacturer of labels for office supply stores. From their site you can determine the exact style (Label number) that you need and can then print your opwn.

We have made homemade wine. I made our labels on Powerpoint, Word, and Publisher. They are easy to print on quality paper and glue on to the bottle. You can use adhesive backed paper, but most companies glue them on glass bottles.

Hot Apple Pie sounds DELICIOUS!! Would you like to share the recipe?? I have a nice APPLE CRISP MARTINI recipe for you. 2oz Stoli Apple,1oz Butterscotch liqueur and 1oz apple pie liqueur MIX the 3 above with a little apple cider and shake over ice then POUR into a chilled martini glass rimmed with cinnamon sugar :). When looking for things like this, I always go to Google Images and type in something like "Free printable labels" and see what images come up. I usually can then find an image I like and download it and customize it.

If your printer isn't that great at home, you can take the artwork to Kinko's or Office Depot and have them print it out for you.

Other than that, here are some sites for you:

The home brew supply place you got the bottles from probably had bottle labels too -

DH is brewing his own beer, so I got him a package of labels - he hasnt used them because he doesnt want to wash them off! :rotfl2:

I did use them when I made limoncello for gifts - I figure I wont get the bottles back - :rotfl2: wrong! Family saved the bottles for "refills" :rotfl2:

(I also made stoly doly - which is a pineapple liqueur - cut up pineapple pour vodka, sit and steep for a week, strain, add simple syrup, and tada - delicious!)

I think other posters gave great suggestions - I found Avery Labels at Staples that worked fine - and Avery has a website for a template to use to personalize too

THANK YOU for all the sites and suggestions!! So fun! I can't wait to make them!

Here is the recipe:

Apple Pie Drink Recipe
Ingredients
* 1 qt. Everclear or 180 Proof Vodka
* 1 gal. Apple Juice
* 1 gal. Cider, apple
* 6 -8 sticks Cinnamon Sticks
* 1 cup white sugar, 2 cups brown sugar

Mixing Instructions
Mix apple juice, apple cider, sugar, and cinnamon sticks together while all are getting hot. Boil until cinnamon sticks lose flavor (they will unroll). Remove from heat, let cool. Add Everclear, and stir. Taste. Refrigerate. Add more Everclear if you want it stronger, more sugar if you want it sweeter, or even more cinnamon. Throw it in the fridge and drink whenever you want it.

That's it! So good when you heat it and then put a little whipped cream vodka on it. I really like it in my egg nog and that's why we originally made it.

Mmmmm that sounds delicious, I might have to try that for the upcoming holiday season. But I always thought it was illegal to buy Everclear? :confused3

Only in some states - from Wikipedia:

In the United States, it is illegal to sell the 190-proof variety in California, Florida,[4] Hawaii, Iowa,[5] Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota,[6] , New Hampshire, North Carolina,[7] [8] Ohio, Washington, West Virginia, and Virginia.

It is legal to sell Everclear 190 in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut [9], Delaware, Georgia, Idaho,[10] Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, Wyoming, the District of Columbia, and in some military stores within the continental United States.

My hubby used this site to create labels for his beer. He prints it on Avery full sheets of adhesive paper then cuts them out.

Sandy, I always wanted to make Limoncello. Is it hard? I have been afraid of getting too much of the white in when I soak the peel and having it be too bitter. It is just so expensive to buy and I wonder if it is cheaper to make. Plus, it would be a great gift.

I used to make a liquor similar to Bailey's. It was very easy and tasted exactly the same. I need to hunt down the recipe and make some of that again.

We made customized wine labels for my niece's wedding and used them on bottles of homemade scuppernog wine that an uncle of the groom made for the wedding. They were Avery brand, arched at the top, and were purchased at Staples. The labels had free templates and designs you could download from their website. The package of labels cost 14.99. Our labels had a wedding type design on them and read:

Jessica & William
October 29, 2011

Happily Ever After!

The labels came out really nice and the wine was tasty too. The caterer put 2 bottles of wine on each table (10 seats per table) at the reception and brought out more as needed.
