Will Disney ever starting building a new ship or two every year or so? They sell out pretty much every time. Or will they just take it slow and build them every 10 years or so?

They are taking it slow for now. There are 2 on slate for the next 5-10 years but after that they will have to see how well their ships sail with 6 in the fleet instead of 4.

This. Plus they take a bit more time in planning rather than being as cookie cutter as some other lines are.

And I believe the shipbuilder is booked several years ahead -- it's not entirely DCL's who is waiting to plan the 2 new ships but the shipbuilder couldn't put them on the schedule any sooner.

They sell out pretty much every time
But that's not always the case. When the "new" ships (Dream & Fantasy) entered service there were many cruises that they were doing all sorts of discounted rates (Military, Cast Member, FL resident, even Canadian resident) across all the ships because they were not selling well.

I believe they've finally "leveled out" on how many cruises they have difficulty filling the ships, and are willing to add to the fleet, again. But, it's going to be slowly.

Magic and Wonder prices will probably move closer to the rest of the market - because even now there's lots of "attitude" against the older ships vs. the newer ship.

I expect that the Dream and Fantasy pricing will remain much higher than comparable ships / itineraries on other lines. I don't see the gap closing on the pricing of these ships for some time.

The new ships will command Jaw Dropping Prices!!! There will be a lot of people that will pay those prices. Heck at some point even I will pay those prices. I believe that by DCL having Really, Really Really High :smokin: pricing on the new ships will allow them to continue to charge the large premium on the Dream Class - because there will be people that will go "no way" to the new ships pricing, and the Dream class will "seem" reasonable in comparison.

I'm OK with this since I love the calmness of the Classic Ships - and they provide what I am looking for in a cruise and just maybe the pricing gets better. Hopefully these ships will get some new itineraries - which will work to artificially prop up the pricing :sad2: - for a while at least.
