Is there a BAD BW View?

We have a preferred 2br BW view for March. Never had a BW view before.

Is there such a thing as a not so desirable BW view? Or are all the BW views excellent enough to enjoy no matter what room you get or how much of the BW you see?

Thanks.

I would personally take the worst BW view over a view at any other hotel (non-Disney). Seriously, it depoends on your preference. Some rooms are directly over the boardwalk and some are over the "Courtyard" but can see the boardwalk.
Here is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/boardwalk.pdf

Please remember, asking for a specific room and getting it are slim but this may help you know if the room assigned at check-in will meet your needs.

The files are in adobe acrobat and which can be downloaded from this site for free:

Happy travels

I think it depends on the person....

We had the typical BWV view - right above the Screen Door. And it was nice, but noisy, and we didn't think it was worth all the hoopla. There are some rooms with "enclosed" balconies - which means you can't people watch while sitting sipping your coffee. And some facing the garden rather than the BW proper - not sure how much of Spaceship Earth you could see from within there.

From our room we could see Spaceship Earth, the Land pavillion and the lights of the Yacht and Beach Club.

Regina!!!

I'll bet you have a hard time finding a Boardwalk View villa that overlooks Luna Pool!! :p

Oh no Granny, not hard at all. Earlier this month, the one and only time that I stayed at the BWV had me and Pennywise staring at each other. :earseek:

I predicted it.:p :p :p

If you were staring at Pennywise you were NOT in a Boardwalk view villa, you were in a preferred view villa which includes water, garden and pool views. Granny is absolutely correct there is no such thing as a Boardwalk view villa that has a view of the main pool or Pennywise.

From that room report there doesn't seem to be too many 2br BW views. I'm assuming there are more and will try and find a room configuration chart.

Can you see any part of Illuminations or Epcot from a BW preferred courtyard view?

And what is a closed off balcony? Do i even want to know.....

Closed off balconies have solid areas for rails instead of slats. So if you are sitting down you can see the sky (which does give you a nice view of Spaceship Earth, but doesn't allow you to people watch on the BW). If you look at a picture of the front of the resort, you will see that some of the balconies don't have railings, but short walls.

The Illuminations view is not very good (IMO) from any of the BW. The BWI is in the way, so you only get the high fireworks - and not many of them go off high. Illuminiations fireworks happen in three batches, so you watch a few go off, sit for some minutes, watch a few more go off, sit a while longer, and then watch the finale. Almost everyone in our party got bored between batch one and two or two and three and gave up. If you are staying at the BW to watch Illuminations, go into Epcot or watch it from the bridge to the Dolphin or the boat dock at the Beach Club. I'm guessing the farther towards Atlantic Dance you are, the better the fireworks view will be.

It is a very nice view, just not as nice as some of the hype - don't set your expectations too high - and its certainly not worth pitching a fit at the front desk because you didn't get it.

Thanks Crisi.

I usually don't expect much and almost never complain. This is our first BW view and really have no idea what to expect. A view of any part of the BW and water where I can see people from the balcony would be great. Hopefully I don't get a balcony that is 'closed off'

Then I think you will be happy anywhere.

If I did one again, I'd shoot for a high floor down by Atlantic Dance. The hallway would be a lot longer, but I think it would be less noisy and the view would be a little better. And maybe we will do that again in a few years if we bring guests.

One of the nice things is that none of the views are blocked by trees - and except for the BWI (and the higher profile of the ESPN sports club with some rooms) - nor buildings. I actually love the tree blocked view at some resorts (a garden view Poly room, trees add to the atmosphere).

IIRC, you guys have little kids. The fireworks from Epcot are really loud, particullarly the finale. Ours were so tired they slept through it, but if you have light sleepers, you may want to be aware that they may get woken up about 9:15.

I don't have a configuration chart, but essentially the odd numbered rooms on the 3rd floor and higher are BW views.

Can't find the thread, but I don't think there are any dedicated 2BRs at BWV; all would be lock-offs.
