Is there a April 2008 code watch thread? **This seems to be it!!

Can I ask what your dates are? I just booked 4 nights from the 9th to the 12th. I'm hoping a code will come out later that I can add onto the reservation. and can I just say how excited I am??!! 4 days are better than no days! hehe

Oh and thanks!

Shellie

We'll be there at the same time! My dates are April 9th to the 13th.

Subscribing and new! So GLAD I found you guys!

When I booked this trip the Disney site listed this week as a wonderful week, but I guess it is not. Well, here's hoping it is not as crowded as last year!:thumbsup2

Am I missing something? I'm going 4/2-4/10. Are the crowds "supposed" to be bad? :confused3

That time period covers Spring Breaks for a lot of school districts. We will be there 4/5 through 4/12 because that is when DD13 has a school break. Before middle school, we would go during off seasons.

Another good indicator that it will be busy is the fact that the hours at MK run pretty late (to midnight for at least a couple days during our planned April trip). During slower times of the year, the MK will close at 7:00 or 8:00.

Thats great! Have a great trip! It sounds like it might be busy. I'm hoping most spring breaks will be closer to Easter. I'm pulling my son out of school for 3 days for this trip.

I went the last week of april last year and it was very slow, it was great! I think all spring breaks are done by then, they seem to span most of the early part of the month.

Any codes yet and is the original poster still updating the first post with updates if a code comes out?

I'm hoping to go the last week of April again this year, last year I used my corporate discount for 15 percent but there was a larger room only discount made available at some other resorts.

They have a posting on this site of the Wonderful Weeks of Disney (not sure where it came from) but it did not jive with the information on the Disney site I got last month.

Actually just went back on their site and they still have the Week of March 30 and April 6 as being WW.

Who knows, but I wouldn't stress. I came at a really busy time last year and we still had a great time! We may have not got a lot of things "done" but we were in such a magical place, nothing could dampen our spirits. My kids don't even recall that it was crowded! LOL!

Sorry, I didn't get the deal it was Quinn222 ( See above) but I did look into it after I read her post and it seems to be only specific resorts. I have booked a package at the ASMu and when I called CRO they told me I did not qualify for any discounts right now. I'm still hoping a new code will pop up. I would like to be able to get enough of a discount that we can upgrade to a mod resort.

We'll be at All Star Movies April 4-12th-just booked today. Does anyone think there will be any AP rates out that week? I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was regular season and not peak season. :cool1:

I think it's really hard to compare 2008's busy time with 2007's. Easter is so early this year and so many spring breaks are in March, where normally they're in April. I think that's what has so many people confused. Also, I think that's why it's considered "regular" season by Disney too - they don't expect it to be too crowded either. Anyone else having the same train of thought?

I agree. This was exactly what I was thinking. If Disney expected it to be busy they wouldn't have it at a regular season rate. Of course that doesn't mean they will be right. It could be wall to wall spring breakers. Just kidding. Nobody panic. I have no idea what I'm talking about. :goodvibes

We are going 4/5 to 4/12. That is sprink break for our schools in Shiawassee county. Does anyone else have Spring break that week? I spoke with my friend who lives near Orlando and she said her kids spring break is in mid March. I hope it is not too crowded. I've never been to Disney in April. It it warm enough to swim? I like it to be in the mid to high 80's.

We have gone to Florida the last week of April every year for 10 years... We swim every year. I talked with my sister about coming earlier and she said they swim (living in FL) all of April.

Thank you! princess: I love to go swimming after a long day at the park. Also it help to have something to do between laundry loads:laundy: We went once at the begining of November. I will never do that again. It was too cold.

Its hot in April. Not as humid as august, but still very hot. Enjoy yourselves!

Well, sometimes it is hot the first part of April. It can also be chilly some evenings the same week you are planning to go. Our spring break falls on that week, and we will be at WDW April 5 - 12. I plan to pack at least a jacket for everyone, plus one set of warm ups - it is miserable if you have ever gone to WDW and only brought summer clothes, and it turns cold while you are there. I was born and raised in FL, and the weather can be very unpredictable, esp. in the fall and in the spring.

In Wisconsin, where we are from, all the Spring Breaks are in March. We are coming April 9-16 to avoid the crowds and to be able to swim. We have come each of the last three years in mid-Feb and while it is pleasant walking around the parks in upper 50s or mid 60s weather, which it has been much of those trips, it isn't good for swimming (even for us hearty weather folks). Not that I complain about 60 degrees in February, but we thought we would try something different this year.
