Is there a April 2008 code watch thread? **This seems to be it!!

We went last April and had amazing weather. I wasn't planning on going back till 2009 but a friend of mine has asked me to go back with her and her 2 boys. It would be the mom's and boys going. My hubby doesn't want to go back. Sooooo... because this is a completely unplanned trip, I am hoping for all the financial help I can get. I have no clue what these codes are or how they work but I'm hoping to come across one so I can start planning. :)

You may want to contact disney direct with these dates to see if you have a code behind your name---there is a 40% off through the 8th & a 20% off through the 12th.:cheer2:

Going to try this one too! You never know - how cool would that be!:woohoo:

I phoned last night to make my ADRs and while making my ressie for Cindy's Royal Table, he said I would have to provide a visa number and $36/person would be charged immediately to my card?? I have never heard of this before.... Any other time I have gone they simply took your name.

The worker told me that upon arrival we would not have to pay for anything. And that the $36 included a meal, drink and dessert...

Can someone verify that this is true? I'm really confused! Are they doing this for all restaurants?

Thanks for the help.

I believe it is for Cinderellas Table & the Grand gathering events. I made reservations at other character tables & they just took the name.

its because its so popular, and hard to get a table, they said that to us last time, but they never took the money till the night, i guess its just if you dont turn up or cancel 24hrs b4 you lose out.

I'm waiting for AP rates to be announced (like many of you !) for Apr 18-25. So far we don't have anything booked, no flights either and of course the more we wait the higher the airfare will get.

Still waiting to hear if there will be P&PP in April too. Come on Mickey, give us some good news!

I have heard that because of the weak USD vs. the Euro that it is cheaper to fly from Europe to Orlando than from NYC to Orlando. For example, discount coach for our dates (17-24 Apr.) from LaGuardia is about $300, round-trip, quoted today. What is an average for your round trip? TIA.

Are these codes posted somewhere?

I am looking for a code for the 5th-8th so it would work out perfectly.

It was a card sent dorectly to individauls & is non-transferable. Maybe call disney direct to see if there is a code attached to your name.:wizard:

We are going to Disney april 12th-19th. going back 7 forth whether to stay at the all star sport or the POP. any suggestions would be appreciated.:happytv: :worship: :worship: :worship:

You'll prbably get more responses to this question if you post it as a new thread or poll on the regular resorts board. I've never visited either, but I THINK you'll find that DISers generally favor POP over AS.

I called last week to see if there wa sa code for my name and the rep placed me on hold for about 30 min... I finally hung up ,, I was pretty livid

It depends. For April our round trips on AA are at 650 euros right now, which I think is about $800. But back in October, for example, our flight from Paris to JFK was €470 and, if we had paid for it, JFK-Orlando would have cost us €485. Huh ?? :confused3

here in uk our flights are about £485 return (economy) to florida
times that by 6 for our brood and its getting expensive :rotfl:

but we do love disney .........
fingers crossed for them codes, i booked the poly and would like to save some $$:goodvibes

Well no luck with a code - called and asked and the CM said there was nothing sent to me....:sad2:

But I will keep calling since there are codes for my whole trip out there! I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to upgrade to AKL or the Poly. Course from other places on the board, perhaps those rooms are already gone anyway!

Still, would be so nice!

Also I did call AAA and the agent told me that if she can get me 2 rooms at POFQ for my same dates, I can book those and release the other 2. She was very knowledgable and friendly. She assured me that my ADRs are safe as they are linked to my phone number and not my reservation. Also, if I get any code at all, she can apply it to my reservation. :thumbsup2

I could not afford that for my family of 4, let alone 6...

What I cannot figure out now is how many tourists I meet in NYC (mostly from the UK and Germany) that are telling me that they are coming over just for shopping weekends. Maybe it was last minute special deals or maybe they are reflective of the super rich? Otherwise it doesn't seem to make sense.

When we were last in WDW in August of 2006, it coincided with a bank holiday in the UK and there were tons of people talking about how it made more sense for them to come to Florida than to go anywhere closer to home for holiday. :confused3

Ah! Bad disney news for me. AAA called and POFQ is totally sold out (not just AAA rates) for my dates. YIKES!:scared1: Now I am totally worried about those crowds!

Oh well, I plan to have a blast anyway!

You're scaring me! :scared1: What are the dates of your trip?

My trip is April 3 - 11 - according to Disney website and the booking CM it is supposedly a wonderful week of Disney due to lower crowds. Go figure!:confused3

Well, I don't know if this has anything to do with the crowd level, but our high school band will be visiting WDW 4/8 - 4/13 -- we're big and we bring alot of fans. Plus, I have to assume we are not the only band performing that week.
