Is the week before Easter popular for DVC?

Premier season is a TON of points and I can see why people would use them for Christmas because everyone loves the christmas season..it's magical!!

But...do DVCers typically use those points for Easter? If we plan to visit the week before Easter will it be hard making reservations at 11 months for the Sunday before Easter? I want to book a value 2 bedroom at Jambo. Do you think it's better to book a few days prior instead for availabilities sake? I'm not talking about "walking" the reservation, just moving the whole trip up by a few days.

The time around Easter is generally very busy....both at the DVC resorts and at WDW in general. Many schools have their Spring Break around that time and people take advantage of their children being out of school and the milder weather.

I think you will be ok at 11 months - but I would call as soon as your reservation window opens.

Busy, yes. Many DVC members have to vacation during school breaks, so it is a busy time. If you want a value at Jambo, book as soon as you can. If you own AKV, then you should have no problem booking right at the 11 month mark.

If you reserve 11 months out, you should have no problem, and that is not just Easter time but any time of year including Christmas. Just do not delay beyond the beginning of the 11 month window to make a reservation particularly if you want a value room at Jambo.

The two Easter weeks are very high DVC demand times. What does happen is that many things start to disappear long before the 7 month window ever opens and come the 7 month window, you may have limited choices, such as just at SSR or OKW or only scattered availability (one to a few nights together but not 5 to 7 nights together in same room) at other resorts.

Very busy. We will be there 2 years in a row during that week (2011 and 2012). It's not ideal for us since it's points-pricey and we don't have a lot, but due to school schedules that's what we have to do for the next few years at least. So we will suck it up in a studio instead of a 1 BR! But it will be crowded in both DVC & the parks.

The week before and after Easter is Spring break for just about everyone. Many DVCer's vacation is tied to school schedule; therefore, its not only busy at the parks, but getting your choice of reservations can be difficult.

Ok thanks guys. We are trying to visit WDW when the kids are off from school too...I guess like everyone else!!! I wish our spring break was the week after Easter so we could actually be there for the holiday. Well hopefully I can get the value 2 bedroom for 3/24/13 for 5 nights. I'm still curious if I should move it up to 3/21/13 just to be safe? So far we've had great luck booking the value 2 bedroom at 11 months, but since it's such a crazy busy time I'm scared other people will snag them all for the weekend before Easter. :confused3

Good luck with your plans. We went the week before Easter this year and I must say it was busy. The schools across the nation all have different holiday period so it really goes for about a month either side of Easter day. DVC knows this hence the prime time points.

Look for code and try to get a discount on value cash if need be or be ready to use your points.

We booked a 1BR Value View at Kidani just recently for the week before Easter 2012. I did it at the 11month mark, and I did not have any problem. I am going to try and switch to BLT at the 7 month mark, we are BLT owners, but I was short a few days worth of points. Good luck to you.

I've been told that the week before and the week after Easter are WDW's 2 busiest weeks of the year...

I'd call that time 2nd - the week between Christmas and New Year's is the busiest time, but Easter is a very close second.

The Easter weeks are usually not quite as busy as Christmas Week. How close they get to Christmas week depends on when Easter falls. When it falls in last half of March/early April you get a double whammy. You have the majority of schools that always have either the week before or week of Easter as their usual spring break. Then there is also a very large minority that always have their spring break in late March or early April regardless of when Easter falls. Thus, when Easter is last half of March or Early April, you get the largest Easter time crowds that are very comparable to Christmas week. When Easter is later in April, the two Easter weeks are somewhat less overwhelming.

I booked the entire week before Easter this year at 7 months at BWV without a problem. I got the exact dates I wanted and a standard studio. I think if you book at exactly the 11 month mark you won't have a problem. I also didn't find it to be insanely busy :).

Easter was unusually late this year.
That may have impacted your success. That is not usual
