Is the waiting for low Fall Fares driving anyone else crazy?

I've been watching and waiting for cheap airfare from Detroit. I've even advised others to wait 'cause the fares in the past have always dropped. I'm expecting it, if it's anything like the last 2 years. but...

I'm taking my mom and 8 year old sister this trip, and Mom hasn't been since '88 and sis has never been. Wanna make this a great trip for them!

I'm checking NWA, Air Tran, Southwest and Spirit. Northwest's flights have been creeping up since Saturday! They were $202, now they're $247. I'm gettin scared! I'm starting to think that maybe they won't go down for October 'cause of the gas prices?

Anyone else goin nuts with this airfare stuff?

IMO, $202 is cheap airfare.

Same here, it seems like they are just getting higher and higher!! Maybe it's a midwest thing. Last fall Airtran had a fall sale and fares went down to $69 each way so that's what I'm hoping for but prices like that could be a thing of the past with gas prices the way they are. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

This is why I booked for Sept about three weeks ago. I jumped on $202.00 round trip from Charlotte, NC. Delta was an option at $177.00 but Delta scares me.
