Is the train open while the parade is running?

Super random question, but...

Hypothetically speaking-- If we wanted to get from Fantasyland to the Matterhorn while the parade is running, I am curious if we could take the train to get to that side of the park at, say, 3:40 in the afternoon. If not, what would our options be in this scenario?

We cut through a parade once while on the train, which was fun, but not sure if they are running the train with Magic Happens going on.

But anyway, there are breaks in the parade when they allow people to cross over the parade route.
