Is the table service DDP enough food for us ???

We have used both the cs plan and the ddp. Both are more than enough food. We normally land up with loads of deserts left over and we end up throwing them out.

If they like pizza a good place is the food court at Port Orleans French Quarter, for 2 credits you get a giant pizza, 2 desserts and 2 drinks. Desserts can easily be saved for later (ask for them to go) We saw families of 4 sharing the pizza and 2 desserts.

Wayne we are staying in Port Oleans Riverside so this is round the corner:cheer2::cheer2:

Yes all are a TS credit, I think Akershus is one of the best value meals on DDP, photo included, Princesses, TS meal + buffet as well incl smoked salmon:cloud9:

My favourite too loved this place and so much food I took DD one day hubby was gutted he missed out same with Park fare loads of food here too including more salmon;)

The only thing we've ever paid oop is bread for toast! I think it was about $0.70 per 2 slices, refused to use a snack credit for that! Otherwise, we couldn't even use all the cs credits.
excellent idea, thays all I can manage for breakie anyway dont like sausages or eggs to buy a full breakfast

Great thread! We did ddp in 2005 and couldn't manage all the food even though we used 2 TS credits for a few signature meals.

Here's a question which may be a little silly but as we're staying in okw which doesn't have a counter service cafe for breakfasts, can we just turn up at another disney property for cs breakfast, such as port orleans?? The only times we went to another property to eat last time was when we had reservations, in the poly, contemporary, etc.

Also, how far / long does it take to drive from okw to port orleans??

:confused3

Anyone can goto any Disney property, they are all open to visit for shopping, dining or just a look around.

OKW to PO takes about 3 mins (gate to gate)

Thanks Wayne, instant info as ever!

That's good to know and it gives us another option for food other than downtown disney or the parks.

:)

We eat many of our CS meals in he resorts. Mara at AKL, Food courts @PO & POFQ, new one at Art of Animation had a few different choices. Pepper market had a Mexican buffet lunch (I believe All you can eat breakfast for 1 CS credit but we don't eat brekkie)
Lots of good CS places in the resorts.

Omg !! We just got back from our trip and had the DDP for the first time we could not eat all the food. Like many we had Bagels cereals etc in the Morning counter service for Dinner and sit down in the evening . Use your Snacks wisely as there are some fab options out there saying that we still ended up using the credits to buy candy to bring home. My hubbie was also trying to buy a family a counter service meal at downtown as we just couldn't use them all lol.
Best counter service wolfgang express amazing !! best sit down between Tepenado ( sorry spelt wrong ) Lunch at le cellier my steak was to die for and for fun 50s prime time.(peanut butter and jelly milkshake OMG)
Least fav Crystal palace not really impressed at all ( chef Mickeys much better )
and ashamed that the Rose & crown in the UK at Epcot has the front to call there food traditional english fair I was embarassed that people would eat there and think thats what we eat in England very dissapointed.
Best snack Main street bakery big cinnamon buns OMG enough to easily share, Funnel cake ( not a snack credit everywhere) Ice cream cookie and my daughter loved Goofys candy store at downtown disney especially the chocolate covered marsh mellows. All the above are obviously what we liked/disliked and I know everyone is different but we really enjoyed the experience of the DDP and with a bit of forward planning you really can have the most amazing time and experiences. Enjoy

You ccan go to the Pepper Market for a buffet for lunch as well. A ridiculously good deal for 1 CS credit. Decent food too with a very nice variety.

We really liked AoA's food court as well. I had the tandoori - while not amazing, was very nice for a change of pace. DH had the surf and surf. We ordered the big pizza for the kids - they made a small dent in it and we brought the rest home.

We did prefer AoA's food court over Pop - better food for sure.

Just noticed this thread. Absolutely DDP will be enough food. In fact like others we spent most of our snack credits on Candy and also had 4 or so CS credits unused.
The Deluxe plan would be an insane amount of food unless you eat in 2 TS Signature restaurants.

Plenty of food on DDP - we often have 1 or 2 signature
Meals but always have use all our credits!

My tips for DDP:

1) eat what you fancy ! Just because you can get an entree for $36 over another for $18 - no point in being greedy! You only end eating too much which can hamper your day! Plus costs you more in a tip!

2) use your snacks! After all DDP is free whilst 10 bottles of water may only cost $25 better to get something you want than saving them for that magical 'more expensive item'

3) if you eat at a food court in your hotel and don't want dessert - THIS is when you buy packed bags of goofy treats - we seldom wanted cake but opted for a pack of goofy lollies that the kids could give to friends at no additional inconvenience or cost to us!

Tips I was going to ask about that, your tip is extra to the plan, so you pay oop?? do you have to tip obviously cs and snacks no tips so just table service meals ?
also you mention entree's didnt realise they were included thought it was just main and dessert Do I pay oop for entrees or is there an option to inc entrees and mains ( instead of dessert) inc in the plan???
