Monday--I believe they are open.

They are closed only on Sundays and Federal Holidays and tomorrow isn't a federal holiday.

Thanks Lisa but I found on their website a list of closings in their calendar and tomorrow apparently they are closed.
I don't know if that is accurate though , I would assume it is.

Most post office employees have the day off on the day after New Years, as well.

tomorrow is a federal holiday.......no mail.

it was posted on the doors of the p.o. all week in our town that monday it would be closed.

since christmas and new years day falls on a sunday, both have the following day (monday) as a legal holiday.

next monday, jan. 2, same procedures: closed will be stock market, banks, post office, schools, libraries, etc

I wonder if trash pickup is affected--although who knows. There's been days when they were supposed to come (with no holidays anywhere around the day) & they haven't shown up. I need my trash picked up though.

My trash pickup is postponed for one day, so they don't come until Wednesday instead of Tuesday.

If the holiday falls on Saturday, the day before is the Federal Holiday. If the holiday falls on Sunday, the day after is the Federal Holiday. So, Jan 2 will also be a Federal holiday.

I just checked the schedule for my borough - trash collection is normal this week and next week (Thursday). Normally it is a day late when there is a holiday, but I guess not this time. Check with your city/borough/township.

i assume the trash pick up varies by the township you reside in.

where i am, it follows the federal holidays system.

we will be one day behind this week and then also next week the same.
after that, it resumes to normal pick up days.

Since it's government/state run, it's always tough to say, but it looks like we've got pick-up for tomorrow (our normal day) unless I'm reading the page wrong. Of course they don't make the information easy to find.
