Is the Photo Package Worth It?

Okay, this may sell me being that it’s only $60 vs. $90 regularly

Like another person commented, not much info on this special! We are taking the plunge into Universal (DVC & AP for MANY years) and trying to figure out the photo package too. We are going this month so wondering how long this package goes to? Also, do you get a photo card to scan like Disney? Have to say, not impressed with the Universal website for information.

agree that this mardi gras sale might sway me to purchase but our trip isn't until June. Is there a way to find out when this deal has to be used by?

Nice Deal

That's better than the Black Friday deal, I got ripped off! :-)

MUP Black Friday Special 2017 $69.99
Unlimited digital downloads for 5 days, a 5x7 print, a 4x6 print, and a 16x18 print in park.

vs

2018 Mardi Gras MUP Special $59.99
5 Days Unlimited Digital Downloads, 1 Free 5x7 Print, 1 Free 8x10 Print,1 Free Poster Print in Park, In Park and Online Photo Discounts

So I emailed about the Mardi Gras deal since we won't go until May, and this is the response I got.

Good afternoon,

You can purchase the package now and redeem it in May. Once it is redeemed,
you will have 5 consecutive days to collect photos. Let me know if you have
any further questions.

Thank you

Last time I had it at UO, I received a card

Have no idea how Disney photo set up is done

Just called UO to inquire about available dates for the Mardi Gras $59.99 photo pass special. After being placed on hold twice for verification I was told this special is only valid during Mardi Gras. I even asked the gentleman to double check. He said he is positive it is only valid during Mardi Gras.

I was planning to buy this special package and use it in June. After what I was told by the UO representative I think I’ll wait.

I’d sent an email to guest services and see if that it is only valid during Mardi Gras time period

If you are told buy it now and it’s valid until first day you use (any date)the photo pass, sounds like a bargain

Save that email!
You may need to show you were advised like the other poster it is valid for your time period

But if you are told it expires by a specific date, wait for another deal to
Come out

Can I go to the parks and use the card to take a bunch of photos, then at the end of the day look at them and buy the photo package online at that point if it's worthwhile?

My first day is this Sat so the Mardi Gras deal should still be in effect.

When I was there in October, the photo pass card had to be shown so the numbers could be in the system for each picture the tm took

It’s how they pull up all your pictures at the end of the day or when you are ready to view and print them when you are done with the park that day

You can see the pictures right away at ET and a few other places

Our group already had the photo card
We looked at the pics and told the photographer what to add in the pictures

We did not have to wait until end of the day to review many of the pictures

I don’t know if you can have your pictures set up in the system for just having them taken and later buying the photo set up on line

Don’t know how they would be held in the system without a number assigned to them

I do hope someone can answer your question

Not a bad idea of checking them all out first and then buying online but ? if that would work

I’ll watch this thread and see if anyone is able to have the info that would help you

just wondering if anyone knows how you get the pictures taken off the site? do you have to order pictures taken from Universal? I'm from Canada so this would be a problem for me. Just wondering if this is a good deal for me. Do these pictures just sit on the site, only to be viewed and when you want to print you would have to go through them. How about sharing can you share these pictures, or would you have to give someone access to your photo page. Sorry for all the questions but my husband is caution about this deal. With Disney you download high res pictures onto your computer, is this an option?
thanks.

Fellow Canadian here too and wondering the same thing. It does say that it includes unlimited digital downloads so presuming there is some way to download the photos. I am leaning towards buying it because at $60 (aka $76ish CDN) even if I get a few ride photos and a couple of the three of us together, I'll be happy. I am always uneasy about handing someone my DLSR camera and also usually uncomfortable asking someone to take a photo for us, but do want some of the three of us together from our trip.

Universal doesn't have anything to do with the package. The photo packages are offered by Amazing Pictures. I called them directly and they confirmed that the Mardi Gras packages can be activated at any time. There is no expiration date. I also spoke to guest relations at Universal. They initially told me that they didn't know but they assumed the packages were only good during Mardi Gras. After some research, she admitted that Universal didn't know anything about it. It's not in their resources. They should be directing inquiries to Amazing Pictures.

Here's the contact info if anyone needs it:
