Is the Mummy really that bad?

For this family of 4 ROTM was way cool! DH & I aren't the best at the old wooden coasters that simply make you feel as if your stomach will find it's way out every time you drop. That being said, we enjoy all the newer coasters that corkscrew and loop. We rode ROTM last fall and I don't recall any of those effects, but with the visuals, the dark, and the unexpected, we all loved this ride. DD (10) and DS (12) were equally impressed. I'm not sure that it topped the Hulk as DD's favorite and Dueling Dragons still holds the top spot for DS. Certainly worth trying.
P.S. I am prone to motion sickness, especially with some of the 3D rides like Spiderman. I just close my eyes and enjoy the ride.

The Mummy is a fine ride. I do suggest to anyone who isn't sure about their stomach, take some over the counter motion sickness medication 30 minutes to an hour before doing any rides. Once you don't need to worry about yourself, you can enjoy all the rides you want!

thats a really good idea
my dad does that and he is fine
it is a really good ride and no one should have to miss it
ROTM 49 times.....50th ride on friday march 18th

It's mostly mental, if i remember correctly. And the coaster parts are really fast...they last 30 seconds tops...It's show meets coaster....but mostly show

No, it is not that bad. I think the "psychological" ride is the scariest part. It is really more like space mountain at MK during the ride part and the rest is effects. You do not go upside down or sideways. I went twice and would have gone again. I liked it.
DH found it too jerky, but he finds most rides too jerky and DD, 10, who loved Dueling Dragons, would not go on it again because of "the bugs."
I thought it would be a lot more scary. Dueling Dragons was a LOT more scary I think!

I must have rode a different ride - this was the nastiest trip I've ever taken. Everything about this ride is unpredictable, including going backwards and the "mouse-like" coaster sudden turns. I was so relieved to see the incline after the backwards bit, thinking I had time to catch my breath - HA!

I've never been so grateful to get off a ride. I didn't get dizzy or sick, just felt disturbed by the experience.

that was the point they were going for but thats not a reason to hate it
for me the more messed up or dangerous a ride the more popular some people see it as
maybe its just me but i really like this ride i feel so alone:(

I havent ridden it yet, but cant wait too soon! :bounce:

Does it have a height/age limit? We'll be with our 7yo and he isn't very tall for his age. Not sure he would want to do it anyway, but just trying to plan ahead...
:)

I'm pretty certain it is 48 inches. DD barely missed making it Jan and should be fine by our trip in June.

i can not wait to go on this ride in August.....does anyone know if this ride has FOTL?? Thanks

Yes it does. It also has a single riders' line.

I love coasters and scary stuff. That being said, this ride was "intense" to say the least. I thought that it was scary and the coaster part was quite a thrilling ride. The darkness made it more intense as well as the special effects. DD-8 loves coasters, but hates scary stuff and wouldn't go near it. So, as you can see, people have differing opinions of this ride. There must be something to it.

Would you compare this to Rockin Rollin Coaster at Disney?

Well...you could....Mummy has no inversions. They both have a launched take off, and they both are in the dark. Thats where the comparisons end. Mummy has many more "interactive" parts to it. You see a lot more, and you spend less time actually speeding around anywhere. There is a lot more of a thrill aspect to Mummy than to RRC, such as the warriors, the animatronics and the flames. While they are both fun, Mummy is more the intense and more fun ride. My sis never rides Space Mountain, but loves mummy. That has to tell you something about the fun, and thrill aspect of it. The backwards drop is nothing but a little downhill thing...whats the big deal?

Speaking for those who don't ride rollar coasters, nor any other rides that make you feel like you're going to die, you can get on this ride.

It does go fast, and backwards, but it dosen't "snatch" you like Rockin Rollar Coaster does. When it started to go backwards, I wasn't shocked and regretted getting on the ride.

The drops aren't real bad. They are scary, but my stomach did not drop (thank God!), and I didn't feel sick.

So work up the courage to ride, you won't regret it! (And no, I have NOT been on anything else that drops :sad2: )

DH doesn't like coasters either, and he has to ride ROTM at least 2X each trip.
