Just Wondering if the Phone Call is A fun thing for the Children ? Has anyone done it --What do they Say to kid's ?I understand it's Before you get on the Cruise Ship .

Well I did it for our 2 grandkids in 2014, my daughter said they listened for a few seconds and quickly lost interest. I thought they would love it.
They were 5 & 3 at the time.

Tired to do it, but never got a call from any character, must not be working..

Depending on where you live, you may have to register for the call and receive a code to call back in with to hear the call. Not quite as magical this way, but still cute.

DD was 7 when we did the calls (we did 2) and she loved it! It is a canned message, not personalized other than I think it mentions the ship and itinerary (maybe). She she was just thrilled to get a call from Mickey. We scheduled it to occur during supper maybe about a week before the cruise -- her teachers reported she talked about it at school all week and even for a while after that cruise. I also scheduled another to my cell phone the day before the cruise, that was Goofy. I had forgotten about it, but she was thrilled that Goofy called us in the car in Florida.

Enjoy your cruise!

We've done this for the kids. Many times over the years for different reasons - calls for their birthdays, calls before a trip to Disney world. The kids have always enjoyed it. (These were the character calls thru the Disney Movie Rewards program - not sure if that's even still around)

I scheduled a call the day after we booked the cruise and I have another call scheduled for the night before we leave. Goofy called and just chatted about how excited he was to hear we were going on a cruise. I don't remember exactly what he said, but it was cute, specific to cruising, and very quick. Mickey is calling before we leave for our cruise. The 3 year old enjoyed it and wanted him to call again. The older three thought it was cute - added to the excitement.

We had Mickey call the night before we left for our first cruise. The kids (10, 8, 6) all loved it and were so excited they started jumping up and down. The message wasn't very long and said it was Mickey calling and he was so excited to hear that we were going on a Disney Cruise.

Our youngest still runs to answer the phone before anyone else can pick it up, so we plan to do the call again for our next cruise. Our last he was too young to know all that was said (or listen to all) beyond the fact Mickey was calling (which excited him enough) so it must have been to make sure he was going on "Mickey's Boat".

My son loved the call from Mickey. My niece got the call from Mickey before our last cruise and she loved it too. It is just a fun thing to do. Definitely sign up for it. You have nothing to lose since it is free. :)

We had two rooms, so we set-up two calls for DGS(2).
One for him on Christmas Day and one for him on the evening before the cruise. He was very excited by both calls.

We did it for our 2nd cruise when our girls were 11 & 8, & they loved it. We tried it again for our 3rd last year & we could hardly hear Mickey, so it was kind of a bust. This year we didn't do it & the girls, now 15 & 13 asked why we didn't get the call. I guess I'd better schedule it for next summer's cruise!
