I cant seem to decide on if we should get the Memory Maker or not ? What are your opinions on it ?

For us it was-
BUT
We did lots of character meet and greets, a character meal (chef mickey), and stopped at many every photographer we saw. We also did Enchanted Tales with Belle, and the rides that took pictures.

So----we got over 175 pictures in 3 days. And then when I went and added boarders and decorations to some of them that put us at about 200.

For the character meet and greets we got 4-5 pictures per character. They started taking pictures as soon as my son started interacting with the character. Some of my favorite photos from the trip are the candids that the photographers took with my son and the characters.

For the photographers around the parks- We stopped at each one we saw. we were willing to stop and wait our turn so we got lots of photos. Some are better then others, some photographers we had better chemistry with and had more fun with. So, we did jazz hands, silly pictures, magic shots as well as the posed smiling pictures.

We kind of made it a scavenger hunt to find the photogprahers and got excited when we found one.

My favorite picture of the whole trip is the last picture we took. We took it at Epcot at night and the photographer had my son stand up on the bench, and put his hands up and shout yeah! At the time I thought, oh that's cute. But when I downloaded it, I realized that it looks like my son is holding up Spaceship earth. It is so cute!

So, it really depends on you and your family and what your priorities are (meet and greets, being willing to stop and take the time to take pictures, etc). I borught my labtop on the trip and every night when we were at the hotel I would download the pictures we got that day and keep track of how many pictures we were at. Our goal was 150 pictures, so that it would be a dollar a picture.

For us it was worth it, but for others it may not be. Only you can decide that for sure.

I'm going to try it out, mostly because I will be alone with DS this trip. It's my opportunity to get us both in pics. I think if one of you is the default photographer, it's a nice option to get everyone in pics. My guess is that for me it will not be super cost effective, but still useful.

It was totally worth it for us. My kids rode every picture ride at least 5x (EE we have 7 before we got the "perfect" family picture). And we saw tons of characters and did several character meals. I think there are around 400 pictures. My kids started to try and get my attention away from photographers.

I have loved Photopass since it started. But I have to say I was about to scream in frustration over the site. It would randomly lock up on me, log me out, was slower than a super slow turtle. I will have to think REALLY hard if I'm going to continue buying MM because of this. I have yet to attempt to Download/burn my pictures yet since I was grandfathered in with my photopass plus CD. I have 3 trips all rolled into one even though 1. is photopass plus 2+3 are really memory maker but I have a feeling that all my pictures will be on PP+ CD.

I found it didn't quite meet my expectations, but if you do a lot of character meet and greets or are there more than 3 days then there's no doubt in my mind it's worth it.

For us, I was a little disappointed in that I didn't feel there were as many photographers around the parks (outside the meet and greets) as I expected. Seems like every time I thought a location was a great spot for a picture (outside the obvious spots like Main St in MK), there was never a photographer around. My wife and I thought perhaps it could've been the lousy weather...and there weren't as many photographers or they were harder to spot in ponchos. Not sure. We were also there only 3 days so we also weren't on quite as leisurely a pace as we would be if we were there a week.

But the few meet and greets we did plus the ride photos did really turn out...and in the end I'm happy we have the pictures...was just hoping for some more location/scenic pictures.

Totally worth it for us. We came home with 300+ photos on it, plus all the ride photos we ended up with more than paid for the MM.

They also told us the pics would be available the next day, but they were always on our account by the time we left the parks that day. We would go back to the resort, bring up the pics on our iPad and look through them instantly.

:thumbsup2

Are the pictures from the character meals included in Memory Maker or only if you buy the prints?

We previously would buy photo pass and at least 1-2 prints from character meals so if the digital images are included this will be a savings for us.

Memory maker includes digital versions of your dining photos.

Are there photographers at the water parks? If so could anyone give me a general idea where you are able to get photos? The water parks look so cute (themed) and I'm debating bringing my DSLR and renting a locker for some scenic shots. I'd love to have a few family photos and ride photos but that would have to be from a photographer. Thanks!

Do I have to add the memory maker at the time of booking or is it something I can do once we get there?

Thanks all :thumbsup2 We wont be doing many character meets but I do like the ride pictures but never have purchased any. Do they do any photos at Downtown Disney ? I guessing they they dont but just wondered, we will be going to T-REX and thought it would be cool to have one there. We did buy some off our photopass last year.
