Is the Luau at the Poly worth it?

Just for something different this year, I thought I would take my wife to the Luau at the Poly. I have heard some mixed messages regarding the show. What I would like to know is how is the show itself and how is the food?

Its so subjective. For me, not so much, but then that's how I feel, I read reviews, I looked at the menus, and decided that I may enjoy part of the show, but it would depend on where we sat, and the food didnt appeal to me near as much as the food at Ohana... Read the reviews, for a quiet entertaining show the Luau does seem to be good, when are you going? Its outdoors, its hot outside, I prefer air conditioning.... but again, its just my opinion... have you tried the 'search' feature here at the top of the thread? Maybe there is more info there... :confused3

I'm happy we tried it once; we would not do it again. We like the food at Ohana's better but the entertainment is special and not something you'll see anywhere else.
My rule of thumb is we will ALWAYS do it once. I appreciate all the information I can glean from these boards, but it still doesn't guarantee anything one way or another for our particular family.
Go ahead, try it. Only you and your wife can really give a judgement on whether it becomes a fave to be repeated or a special night to enjoy once.

We did it in December and liked it too!

We had never been to the old one so we have nothing to compare it with, but the food that night was excellent, not dry and our server kept it coming until we said stop. The same with the beer and wine.

The show was good, the fire dancer was excellent.

We would consider it again, but need to try HDDR first.

Went w a large softball group last April. Teen girls and parents. Everyone had a good time. The show was really nice. Some really hot guys dancing w/o much on too :goodvibes If you have kids they invite them up to participate. Someone mentioned it was hot as outdoors. We were comfortable, I believe there are ceiling fans. Go, it's lovely. Food is good enough, dessert was delicious. Worth it. :flower:
