Is the Lighthouse Sandwich gone from CHH?

So sad. Healthy or not, this sandwich was just plain GOOD. RIP Lighthouse Sandwich

AnnaKat: I wrote back to them and basically begged them to at least have a vegan veggie burger available at a couple of QS locations in each park (and a vegan bun--since sometimes there's a food that a vegan could eat, only there's not a piece of bread to put it on!). I got a similar boilerplate response, but at least I registered my thoughts. It's weird to me that it was actually easier to get a vegan meal almost anywhere in WDW 10 years ago than it is now. Boo hoo hoo!

That's a great idea to @ least have a vegan veggie burger available with a vegan bun....

It's SO sad that when food offerings have been shifting to healthier & healthier @ the supermarkets & restaurants over the last 10 years that Disney seems to be going backwards!

They could be king of vegan, make 1000s of guests happy,
AND still make their profits!

We have found it more & more difficult to find appropriate meals, over the years.
We prefer veggie dishes & salads.

Not they we are going this year,
but I noticed that the F &W has NO
caprese salad offered anywhere this year. Last year, it was offered in 2 places....

Fortunately, veganishly speaking, there's Blaze Pizza at DS--with many many vegan options--and of course Erin McKenna's, which is not just vegan but also totally gluten-free. But . . . when you're at MK, you don't want to go all the way to DS for a meal! And if you're dependent on the buses, there is no bus to DS from MK until 4 p.m.

I just noticed the missing Lighthouse sandwich when I went to do mobile ordering. I thought the whole menu didn't load!

After every trip, when I answer the surveys, I complain about the lack of vegetarian/vegan options. Clearly, it isn't working. Things are getting worse!

That response is aggravating. Lucky me, I can always hold up the line and pay full price for a "special order". Thanks Disney.

It's part of Disney's corporate identity now--offer fewer choices but still be able to say "we offer _____." They have been tightening food budgets for years now--just look how your favorite restaurants have pared their menus in the last decade--and so it continues. It's the same in other areas: personnel, landscaping, refurbishments. The bottom line, while always a part of the Disney plan, has become the driving factor instead of the byproduct. I'm neither vegan nor vegetarian, but I appreciate variety and well-made meals. The Lighthouse was the ONE item at CHH that we would buy as it was a) light, b) tasty, and c) for Disney, reasonably priced. We have removed CHH from our rotation now.
