Is The Honeymoon Over?

Yeah---I can relate---trip one----had an AWESOME TIME----trip two---belated honeymoon for the DH and I---TRIP THREE----had a WONDERFUL TIME---decided to take a break---this was in December '04---March of '05 FULL FLEDGE MEMBERS OF DVC---SSR---we cannot stay away---we're lifers---no doubt about it!

Oh well, at least the sellers aren't taking a huge bath like most of the people who end up dumping their timeshares.

Sure wish my financial portfolio was increasing at the same rate that my BCV DVC has in these past 3 years!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

OK..where are all these BCV sellers....so...I can get my add on?? :confused3

Sooooo she's almost single and available? How many points does she have???

Unfortunately she doesn't have DVC points. She owns over at Fairfield. Depending on the resale value and maintenance costs, her timeshare may be a liability for her.

Now, I believe that there are quite a few singles with DVC points right here on the disboards. If you post how many points YOU have and maybe any other redeeming qualities, maybe you could attract a few! Lol! :rolleyes1

We're perfectly happy with our SSR!! The friends who told us about the great DVC just bought 120 more points at SSR...So they are benefiting by the resales. Hey, now they have more points than us...Maybe it's time for an add-on!!!!!

I wonder if people buy them and then try to sell for profit. there was a point increase last year.

We had been to WDW about 8 years in a row before we bought, we knew its what we wanted !!! :flower:

I'm single so I have no worries about the great divide. I won't even consider a new mate if she is not a DisneyNut because if she's not, I'll be vacationing form the next 36 years on my own!

Eight years ago I went to Disney with my now Ex husband. We took the tour and at that time I thought this would had been a great idea to vacation. My son was 7 at the time. My ex was too thrilled. I went back this past Nov with my son now 15 took the tour again and ironically with the same guide. I went home looked at resales and bought 150 points. I have 36yrs more to enjoy Disney and I'm sure my son will too. I regret not buying when he was younger. ::MinnieMo

Sounds like you and I joined at the same time and at the same resort!

Welcome Home!

My only regret is that I passed by the DVC booths 100's of times and kept thinking....maybe I should....

This is one of those - I needed this smile today - threads.........

I can just see it now...... another board here on the DIS for DVC singles to hook up based on the # of points they own and what home resorts they have..... oh and - well - what use year do you have while we're at it?
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've been going to Disney since 1995. Never took a tour because husband (at the time) didn't want to do that. Well in 2000 I took my boyfriend and my kids to Disney, and needless to say my boyfriend was hooked. We went again in 2002 (by then we were married) :cool1: but still didn't look into it. We went back in 2003 for our anniversary (just DH and me) and decided to look into it. We loved the idea and bought 175pt at SSR. Planned our first trip home in 2004 for 8 of us. Had the time of our lives. We had me, DH, DS, DD, DDbestfriend, DMIL, DFIL, DSIL (in laws had never been). Decided in 2005 to add on 120pts. When we did we got a one time use of 100pts. We stayed at OKW this past Nov-Dec in a 2 bedroom. There was only me, DH, DD, & DDbestfriend (DS was off in college :sad1: ), we had asked several friends to come down and join us, with free room, but no one wanted to. So we had a great time in a 2 bedroom with just the 4 of us. Already planning our time for this year!! Looking into do 2 this year. It has been great for us and we will be doing a family reunion for my DH side sometime around 2008.

You have to love the cowbells! I think we'd fight over who got to keep the timeshare and not who was stuck with it. The timeshare or the dog? That would be a tough one.

My use year is February and I have 220 points. I wanted enough points to be able to go at least twice a year. For the time being a studio works well but I want to experience a one bedroom. I also have a ton of brothers and sisters who may want to join me in the future.

Here's to 36 years of Magic and Saving$

What's really scary is what my DH & DD got me for Christmas.........A Cowbell......and More Cowbell!

(I felt like a real goof opening up cowbells) :crazy2:

We bought last spring and while I won't call it buyers remorse I will call it "Member Services Trauma" that could make me put our points up for sale! I recently had to call for a couple of reasons...we moved and I had to do a change of address, change of bank account for direct debit and also make a reservation. While I had e-mailed MS three times I never got a response and ended up being on the phone over 30 minutes for each call. They did not make my day magical. I called my guide, truly in a huff, and said I was shocked by the unDisney-like attitude with each of the three calls over the fifteen day period. One more call like that and my points will be on the for sale board 'cause I'd be just as happy booking online and not have to speak to MS.

The "cowbell" thing is from a Saturday Night Live skit with Christopher Walken. I had totally forgotten about it & how funny it was until I saw Rinkwide's signature.........Since then, "I need more Cowbell" has become my motto.

So, I have Rinkwide to thank for a really embarassing christmas!

And there are people who take their first trip and are unlucky enough to get stuck with a smoking room, or a room that wasn't clean. Its the exception, but on your first trip I'm not really surprised that some people decide to come back and sell.

Baby.... I Got A Fever! :rotfl2:

Wow....Now I definately need to watch it!
