Is the Grinch character meal too intense for a young child?

Hello. I found a video on youtube of the Grinch at a character meal---he seemed a little intense. He was joking around with older kids in an in-your-face kind of way. I understand that the character is somewhat unpleasant so that is probably just his style. I have a four year-old who loves the Grinch book but has never seen the Grinch movie. Has anyone taken a young child to the character meal? Does the Grinch tone down his act for a young child or is he always so bold?

Thank you for any info you can share!

I haven't done the breakfast but I can't imagine the Grinch would do the same antics with a four year old as he would with an older child.

Thanks for the reply. Like you said, I would hope that the Grinch would tone down his act for a young child but we found that some of the villains at WDW (Queen of Hearts, Cruella deVille and the Queen from Snow White) stayed very much in character even when dealing with very young children. Cruella threw my young son's autograph book on the ground, said something nasty and walked away! So now I know that I'm taking a chance when approaching the villain-type characters with a young child. We can just skip the Grinch breakfast if he doesn't adjust his routine to fit the child.

Has anyone had a young child experience a pleasant breakfast with the Grinch?

We're taking our kids to the character meal for the first time this year because my 4 year old daughter loves the Grinch. She even had a Grinch party for her 3 year birthday. But lately she complains that it scares her when we "talk loud" (meaning anything over very soft, normal talking), so this should be interesting.

I can't tell you how he is at this breakfast, but maybe you should watch the movies with your 4 yo? Especially the live action one, since it appears to be that one the Universal Grinch is based on. Then your child can get an idea of how he's going to act.

I've seen some HILARIOUS interaction between the Grinch and kids, like pushing them in the other direction when they come up to meet him and looking disgusted in photos. I don't know if your kid would get the humor but most of the kids and parents I saw were loving it.
