Is the Great Movie ride too scary for..

the ALIEN part is a little scary...but otherwise its calm...they probably wont even know whats going on...

There's a part where old time gangsters are shooting guns at each other around the car you're in. My 4 year old was frightened by this.

We went last year with a 2 year old and 4 year old....I covered the 2 year olds head during the Alien part. The wicked witch of the west is a little creepy (even to me!)--the gun fight is loud but didn't scare my kids...I guess if they aren't scared on the "dark" rides (snow white, peter pan etc) they will probably be ok.

Scariest thing is probably the witch. The Alien part is pretty tame, really. Honestly, though, kids that age would probably be bored by the whole thing, not having seen most of the movies.

There are some sort of intense parts, but I wouldn't think twice about bringing them. The scenes are pretty short and you're on to the next part in no time, and the rooms and car are big enough (and the action happening far enough away) that it's not such an immersing experience as something like the Haunted Mansion is. I'd imagine your younger one would sleep right through it all.

My 11 yo DD still hides her eyes during the alien part. So does my 8yo DS.

My daughter (who is 3) hated EVERY single minute of that ride. It was a bit too loud and dark for her.

My 3 1/2 year old didn't like it. I think it depends on the child. I took him to the movies when he was 3 and he was so scared with the noise and darkness that he was shaking. My 6 year old only tolerated the ride too. When my 6 year old was on a Disney trip at 15 months he didn't seem to be bothered by the dark loud rides...but now I wonder. He didn't cry but who knows what he would have said if he was talking?

Took an 8 year old and 5 year old on it. The 5 year old was scared by the gun battles.

and we went on that ride. My 7 yr old was fine with the whole thing. The 4 yr. old did not enjoy herself. She did not like the shoot out, the skelatons...my dh tried to block her view. They loved the Oz scene and Mary Poppins.

My 13 year old STILL hides her head in the Alien part. This is the kid that loves to watch scarey movies but then has to sleep with me for a couple of nights afterward!

my kids (ages 9 and 5) say they really liked it....but I know my son (5) really believed the gangster shoot-out part and when we became the get away car..... he really cheered when later on, the original driver came back!!!! He didn't like the alien part either. After the fact, though, he said he 'knew' it was just pretend!!!

Scariest part is that you might have to wait forever and there isn't a bathroom anywhere or anyway to get out of the ride once you're on!

Well, that and the alien part (but we had our kids close their eyes because we knew it was coming.). We were up front and my DS Wasn't particularly fond of the CM sitting next to him, so we passed him down the row to sit on Dad's lap and he was ok. (He had just turned 2)

My eight year old was having a great time until the Alien...needless to say, he won't even consider riding it again!

(OK, he also freaked out on Pirates - maybe he's just a little on the scaredy-cat side - you decide:rolleyes: )

Have fun!

It's hard to say. It depends on your kids. It is a bit loud at the gunshot scene, but my 6 year old didn't have too much trouble with it. We didn't take my 2 year old. I would agree with the long wait, and not being able to get to a bathroom while waiting.

thanks for all the great advice guys, I guess we'll just have to wait & see how they do on some of the other rides (like pirates) first!....
