Ive been told by several people in the past week that its all fast food and junk food at Disneyland??

Just wondered if this really was true?? as I am not keen on chips and neither is my youngest.... just wondered if anything at all comes with salad or pastas /. rice etc???

thanks :)

There is plenty of choice away from chips - even at the fast food outlets in Disneyland, you can choose salad instead of chips, and water or milk instead of fizzy drinks, including with childrens meals.

It maybe that the people you have spoken to were eating in a hurry so just grabbed something and didn't really look around for whats available.

Have a look at this website - it lists menus for nearly all the Disney Park, Studios, and Village restaurant and cafes.

oh brilliant, thanks for the link..
I did wonder... because not everyone likes chips lol

Maybe I can lose weight before xmas after all hahahaha :rolleyes1

You'll find a variety of food offerings at DLP. Have a look at the Restaurant faq at the top of the board and you'll see reviews and photographs :)

Another thought...

Have most of you pre-booked for dinner seating before your trip or once you get there? or not bother?

Is there still a chance of being seated somewhere if we just decided to turn up at 4/5/6 pm to have dinner?

Also is there a set menu for the half board vouchers?

thanks again:coffee:

Hi Melody,
Judging by what we found last week I would say if you turn up at a resturant between 3-5pm then you'll get in fine - at that time the places we went (Rainforest Cafe and Blue Lagoon) were pretty quiet and Annettes looked quiet too. By 5:30 though they had started to fill up and people were starting to have to wait for seats.
If you want something like Cafe Mickey though with the character visits though I would say book a table a few days (or more) in advance. I rang on the Wednesday morning and they had no tables left for that night until 9pm and only had a table for 5:30pm for the following night (unless we wanted to wait until after 9:30pm).
Obviously I can't comment on the other resturants, but these seem to be some the the most popular places so I reckon it would be the same in most other places too.

Our DD and I are not fans of Fast food either .

I thought I had the only child who doesn't like chips :rotfl:

DD loved the pasta at Rainforest Cafe , Annettes and Auberge de Cendrillion

She also had a Grilled Cheese sandwich at Annettes and fish with veg at Cafe Mickey

The train station was a good lunch time stop for filled baguettes (DD does like her bread ;) )

Sorry Melody, I didn't have time to fully answer you questions this morning before I rushed off to work :sad1:
While there is a lot of "fast food" around at DLP, you can get decent healthy meals at the proper resturants. I too have a small child that doesn't like chips! :confused3
Last week we ate at the Blue Lagoon and DS had Creamed Choped Cucumber to start, Spaghetti Bolognese for his main course and then tropical fruit sald for dessert. DD had vegetable sticks with fromage frais dip as a starter, meatballs with rice for her main and raspberry fruit soup for dessert. At Cafe Mickey DD had fish with vegetables for her main course and DS had a pasta dish again but the choice of desserts were either ice-cream or sweets and sticky things! At the Rainforest Cafe, DS had another pasta dish (can you tell he likes pasta! lol) and DD had a burger and chips (most of the children's menu came with chips but you could swap them for mixed vegetables if you wanted).

The meals are one of the things we really enjoy about our Disney holidays and can be as healthy or as unhealthy as you choose. We've just been for 5 days and I didn't have chips once!!
