Is the Contemporary Pool kid friendly?

Wanted to know your opinion on the pool at CR. Would a 4 year old enjoy it? Planning on spending our days at MK and Epcot and thought CR would be a good choice because of the monorail. Do you select resorts for the pool or for location?

How big is the pool? I know it has a slide, but does it have anything else? It does not have any type of theme does it?

I don't know the exact size of the pool, however it's not heavily themed like the volcano pool at the Polynesian or SAB at the Yacht Club & Beach Club.

A little bland compared to other resort pools. No zero entry, so your 4 yo will not be able to touch bottom. Its shaped like mickey ears. The slide is real nice. You'll have fun. I love the Contemporary, but the pool is not the best.

My kids enjoyed the slide and we enjoyed the hot tub. We miss a hot tub when we stay at POP.

No, it's a terrible pool for little kids who can't swim. There is no kiddie pool, no zero entry, and the "sprinkler" area only amuses for so long. When my dd was 2.5, we didn't even bother going into the pool at all. When she was 4.5, we had to hold her and "swim" her the entire time.

Now that she's older and a excellent swimmer, I'd love to stay at CR again. I would not stay there with a little kid who is not a great swimmer.

My niece loved the slide when she was 3. Her dad would catch her at the bottom, and she would get right out of the pool and go back down the slide again. No, it is not as themed as some of the other resorts. But I liked looking out over the lake, and looking up at the resort itself was pretty cool.:)

My kids hated the pool at the CR. My DD was 2 and DS was 6.

DS was able to swim, but still disliked it. According to him, it was very boring. The sprinklers kept my DD amused for about 10 minutes.

We loved our stay at the CR, with Tower MK view room. But won't stay there again unless we go during a "cold" month or they redo the pool.

How deep is it? My 4yo touches the bottom of my pool.

I agree. We are staying at the CR when we are there in August for a few nights and I am not sure I am gonna hit the pool.

The pool definitely doesn't look as good as the other resorts, but as long as there is a slide, our son will be fine. We stayed at WL in March and liked the pool, but the theme didn't seem to matter to him. May be when he is a little older he will care, but as long as there is water and he can get into it to cool off and swim around for a little bit he will be fine. We don't plan on staying at the pool for an extensive amount of time. The ease of the monorail to get to MK and Epcot is worth staying at CR.

If he can't touch, run over to the gift shop and buy some floaties, etc. When we were at OKW we needed some so I went to the gift shop and they had some cute Nemo ones for around $2 or $3.
