I have come across a few posts with people saying that the coffee is pretty bad at most resorts and parks...is this really true? I LOVE my coffee in the morning so the thought of an aweful cup of coffee doesn't make me very happy. :( We are staying at ASMovies for the first four nights and I know there isn't a coffee maker in the room so I was going to bring a little single cup maker but how am I going to get boiling water, unless I go to the food court right? I hope I am making sense!!!! My DH also loves to drink hot tea so we will definitely need boiling water!

TIA!

There were no coffee pots at the ASMu. The coffee in the food courts is ok just not great. They have tea bags and hot water in the food courts. They also have microwaves. Are you boiling water for a coffee press otherwise don't most coffee pots start out with cold water? I moreso didn't care for the cream or whatever that was offered. I prefer milk.

I guess it depends on what you're used to drinking. We buy our coffee weekly from a local roaster and it is excellent. We can't drink the Disney coffee, so we bring our own and brew it in the room (we stay mostly at deluxes, with an occasional mod so we have coffee pots in the room). One year, DH was so desperate for a decent cup of coffee that he left us at a park in search of something off site.

We're not coffee connoisseurs same goes to Florida water, but for the length of our stays I can drink the coffee. We're not going to die or run off to find something to our preference and we can take it or leave it when it comes to " I have to have coffee in the morning". Food court coffee is fine, one cup good to go, rest of the day, lemonade, iced tea and beer. We stay deluxe and use what they leave, 40 trips and still couldn't tell you the brand name or care. What gets me are posters that say its horrible but put tons of cream and sugar in it so how can you actually say the coffee is bad, maybe the cream and sugar is. I take mine black and can drink Disney coffee, I can also drink from Disney fountains and other water sources and never buy, store or purchase bottled water.

Oh, it's pretty darned bad.

I seem to remember the words 'dirty dishwater' coming up on occasion. :worried:

Why Disney and Starbucks haven't joined forces by now is anybody's guess.
The Dolphin has Starbucks coffee packs and great coffee makers in each room which sometimes seems like half the reason we stay there.

There *are* a couple of places in 'The World' for good to great coffee, but it might be kind of a hassle.

Lessee....

Easily the best is The Kona Island Coffee Bar at The Poly. It's worth the monorail trip over just to get a big cup of *real* Kona coffee. It's delicious, addictive and worth the 10 min ride in our book.

If you're going to Epcot, there's a great place in 'Morocco', the name escapes me at the moment, that has wonderful coffee and espresso. We make it one of our first stops when touring the countries.

Sadly, that's about it. I *think* there's a Starbucks at The Hilton in Downtown Disney, but that's a little too out of the way for even us to go...

Hope this helps a little.

The best coffee we found was at a small stand in the Poly by the Kona Cafe..just off the monorail, second floor....it was Kona coffee from Hawaii...my hubby and I liked it and it brought back memories of our honeymoon in Hawaii...but we are Starbucks people..the coffee just didn't compare..;)

It is true that the coffee is horrible. What we would not give for Disney to enter into a deal with Dunkin Donuts.

just so you know, when you hear someone say "they have Starbuck's" at such and such a place, that's only sort of true. It's kind of like if you bought Starbuck's ground coffee at your local grocery store, made a pot at home, and then told people that you had "Starbuck's" at your house. The S/D "Stabuck's" coffee is better than WDW coffee but it still very weak. I say bring your own and make your coffe in your room. :goodvibes Threehearts

Disney has a deal with Nescafe. If you like Nescafe (and Florida water), you'll be fine. We bring our own coffee and brew it in the room (DVC). The couple of times we "had" to get coffee I ended up putting cream in (I always drink my coffee black) Adding the cream did help a little. It still wasn't a great cup of coffee, but I did drink it :)

Glad for the heads up. I need my coffee in the morning so I'll be bringing my Folgers. The FW cabins have coffeemakers, I believe.

I never knew coffee could taste that bad until I went to WDW. I would have sworn off coffee if I drank theirs for the first time. :rotfl:

Liquid Nescafe. Blah! but there are some good spots around that serve "real" coffee.

Yes, it is that bad!! I always bring my own coffee, and my small "travel" coffee pot when necessary.

There is a decent place to get coffee at a stand outside of AK.

DH and my mom drank the coffee last trip (I am not a coffee drinker) and though they said it wasn't the best they didn't have a problem drinking it and there were plenty of people I saw day after day drinking it without complaint while we are there. I wouldn't know honestly since I don't like coffee but I wonder if even though it isn't "good" coffee, that there is so much talk about how bad it is that they are already geared up for it to be swill. I never mentioned to DH and Mom about how bad it was supposed to be and they had no big complaints over it. Mom usually drinks Gevalia and the like. Like I said I've never had it but there weren't complaints from my travelling party.

That is what I was afraid of!!!!

Thanks everyone! I think I will pack a small coffeemaker in my luggage, especially for the mornings. But I am very intrigued by the coffee at the Poly!:)

That's funny....I was just talking to my DD (age30) about our Disney trip that we returned from on June15. She always has to have her Tim Horton's coffee every morning. I asked her what she did every morning in Disney and she stated the coffee was pretty good wherever she went.

The coffee at the Poly is the best we found..I do not know where you are staying but if you get on the monorail stop at the Poly and go inside to the left there is the coffee stand..there is always a line but worth the 10 minute detour..grab some coffee and jump back on to the MK...:drinking1

MY mom said the same thing, I think its just because she was at disney and everything was magical even the nastycafe:lmao: I brought flavored creamer and it made it a little bit better. My dad said the coffie in the room was ok, I will bring the creamer again this time even though we are staying deluxe and there will be a coffie pot I dont want to do anything domestic when Im on vacation;)
