Is the Christmas Parade being Taped DEC 3???

Yes, it is. The park will probably be a mess that morning. I'm planning to do Epcot in the morning then head back to MK late. That might not work but I can handle the crowds better at night than I can early. LOL

Thanks for letting me know, do you remember where you heard this?/ :goodvibes

Well, I usually end up in MK by accident every year during parade taping. What can you expect? Areas roped off. Lots of the same part of the parade over and over again in a small space. Crowding around the part of Main Street where they are currently filming. But an interesting experience if it's the first time you've seen it.

It's a good way to see parts of the parade, but I can't imagine watching the whole thing as they take hours to film what ends up on TV.

I do enjoy seeing it on Christmas Day though, after I was there watching during the taping!

Have fun!!!

I read so many different disney sites and forums there's no telling. LOL

what time do they usually tape the parade, that is actually my last day there, so even if there is hustle and bustle it might be kinda of a cool way to end the vacation!!!

Oh I don't really know the answers to those questions! :rotfl: Either I'm getting old, or too many trips to too many Disney parks!!

I believe that Regis and whoever he hosts with now are there (that's how pathetic I am - I have been accused of living in a paper bag when it comes to popular culture...)

Time? it seems to go on throughout the day - they have signs up advising that they are taping in the park and if you don't want to appear on TV you should avoid it. Don't know exact times.

Sorry! (you'd think that after 10 years of going to WDW in early December I'd have more accurate information)

It will be our last day in the parks also. We fly home on Sunday the 4th. I thought this might also be cool.

It will be shown on Christmas day. Realize that you won't see the whole parade if you stand there and watch. They may bring a float down and they may to perform the same thing several times. Then they bring someone else down. You will never see the entire parade start to finish.

It is fun to watch though. I was there for 2 of the 3 days of taping. You do a lot of standing for a little bit of seeing parts of the parade.

Also to add. They dont tape the parade in order either. And like last year they only used Satruday's commentary and used Fridays actual parade taping cause it was such nasty weather on Saturday. They move the location of where Regis and Kelly sit every year. So there is no telling what area's will be complety blocked off.

Remember this is traditionally the slowest weekend ever. So this is why they pick this weekend. The park is actually quit dead once you get beyond the taping area(main st and castle).

And they usually show the parade in its entirety after the complete the taping. But you need to keep an eye on the Disney show time board for this time. Since it will depend on when they finish up.

Had friends last year who remarked about the great deal of standing. Is it best to skip if you have small children?

A previous poster said something about Friday and Saturday. Will they also tape on Friday the 2nd? This is our last day, we fly home on Saturday. I dont want to get in a big mess. Especially since this is a MVMCP and they close at 6pm. I didnt realize that either. I thought when I bought tickets for the MVMCP that the dates were Sun., Tues., and Thurs. Has this changed or am I just not remembering correctly? I really wanted to end the day late in the MK for our last day. Oh well!!

Actually they tape Thur-Sat. With Regis and Kelly usually only being there on Saturday. The conduct the regular parade on Thurs and Friday and have the camera towers set up to film. But there is no stopage in the parade.

Last year we saw them tape a segment with Mariah Carey in front of the castle on Sunday, so it can go on all weekend.

I disagree that it's the slowest weekend of the year. We always go around this time and the parks can be crowded, I think people who are close come in for the weekend to see the Christmas decorations and shows. The weekdays after are pretty quiet.

What about Disney channel stars? Does anyone know if they'll be there that day, or do they tape that at different times? DD would LOVE to see Raven.
