Is the Cheesecake Factory worth it?

some people are really "anti chain restaurants." I suspect Art is one of those people. I "get" that...I really do...but sometimes you want to spend your hard earned money on a sure thing. I love trying new places, but I also like knowing I will get exactly what I am expecting from an Outback, Bonefish, etc.

Cheesecake Factory is REALLY good. I am amazed that they do everything on their extensive menu so well! Portions are huge so keep that in mind. If you have never been, I definitely think you should go. Also, they own Grand Lux...which I like even a little better. Same idea as CF, same atmosphere, etc. I guess GL is a tad bit more upscale.

Have a great trip!

We like it. I think it is pricey, but you do get a lot of food. It is nice because it allows DH to get something different and I can still get chicken fingers :thumbsup2. I am a pickey eater and have tried other things there like a chicken parmsean, but I did not care for it. The cheeseburgers are good, too (cheese only of course :)) Our kids were 3 & 5 last time were were there (It has been a while due to the price) Just DH and I order and share with them, which we would still do with them being 5 & 7. We get two pieces of cheesecake for the four of us, that is the best part! Now I want to go there.

TRIED THE PIZZA LAST TIMEI WENT- YUM!! and the godiva brownie sundae feeds at least 3 of us

Not if you don't want to gain a lot of weight. Cheesecake Factory has one of the absolute worst menus in America as far as healthiness is concerned. Fats, trans fats, sodium out the wazoo.

It is tasty, though, lol.

Just had dinner there Saturday with DH. Two cocktails, appetizer, entrees and one slice of cheesecake - 70.00 plus tip.

Totally worth it. Everything was delicious!!! Stuffed mushrooms and chicken madeira are especially good. Portions are huge, enough to take home & have for lunch the next day. Cheesecake is amazing (and filling). The drinks were pricey but also huge. Great mojitos!!

The menu is extensive. Something for everyone. :)

You hit my faves - Chicken Madeira and the mojito! I found the 'fake' recipe online, so now I make it as home. Not quite as good (probaly way less fat and soduim), but still decent.

I'll be the odd man out... DH and I hate the cheesecake factory. The food was only ok the three times we've been there. They are right about the portions, though, they're huge.

It's pretty good. Not amazing, but they have one dish I like and go back for. A bit overpriced unlesss you can get the lunch portions of your meals.

I think their drinks and cheesecakes are way over priced though. I normally do not get both if I go there. Cheesecakes are okay, but nothing too special when it comes to cheesecake. They are good as a dessert though, if that makes sense. Just not good actual cheesecake.

It's pretend food, can't stand the place.
Pretend food? I can understand not caring for it, but I'm pretty sure the food is real. :rotfl:
:confused2 I know. I haven't cleaned out the fridge yet, so the little bit of the salad I won't eat - the turkey - is still in there in the container. I just checked. It's REAL turkey - not pressed, not deli slice, nothing like that. Real turkey. I recall the other ingredients were real as well - the lettuce, eggs, tomatos, avocado, BACON BACON BACON :teeth:

Everybody else's food was real - and freshly-prepared - as well. I don't get Art1's claim.

I like the Cheesecake Factory, but never go to the one in Nashville because the traffic in the Green Hills area is nearly always a pain.

We were just there sunday! Love the Romano Chicken! The 30th anniversary cheesecake is out of this world! Order the lunch portion and save room for dessert! ;)

IMO it is very good. I love the meatloaf. I always get the lunch portion though b/c their portions are huge. The cheesecake is also delicious but I normally get that to go b/c I'm stuffed from the rest of the meal.

We have one close by and almost never go. It's a bit overrated and pricey and the food is good but not great. It's also crowded and really really noisy (at least the ones I have been to).

I do love their White chocolate raspberry cheesecake though.

Still when I have guests from out of town they always want to go there.

If you have never tried it, it's worth it to go once if only for dessert.

As others have said, the menu is extensive and the food is tasty. That said, I have recently developed an aversion to restaurants with obscenely large portions and will not be returning to Cheesecake Factory.

I maybe the only woman in the USA who really doesn't like Cheesecake, but I do like to eat there. Its not someplace we go to often because I don't think its worth the wait they always seem to have.

Its pretty much a casual dining restaurant, just a larger menu.

I ate there for the first time in Atlanta two weeks ago. I thought it was quite good. I had a chicken enchilada-type dish and liked it. My older son (almost 8) really wanted a salad and got a regular-size burger to get the salad along with it. He must have loved it, as he ate almost the entire salad and quite a lot of the burger. The child who never eats anything without asking "what is this?" ate BEETS on his salad! :faint:

I'm not a fan of cheesecake, but my husband is. He had the Red Velvet Cheesecake and enjoyed it. I had some of the Dark Chocolate Cake and it was quite good, also.

Total for 4 with tip, $73. Considering $15 of that was dessert which we wouldn't normally order, it wasn't really more expensive than our other typical family haunts (Outback, Applebee's, Friday's, etc).

I think their food is good, but not great. I don't think it's really worth the price because there are other restaurants nearby that serve either similar food at lower prices or better food for the same price.

But we still go there occasionally. For the cheesecake. Their cheesecake is definitely worth it! :thumbsup2

Last time, we had the red velvet cheesecake and it was heaven on a plate! :cloud9: Delicious, and not too rich. Not bland IMO, but I can see where someone would find it more bland that the super-rich ones. I love the rich ones, too, but can't eat so much of them. Dh and I were able to finish the entire slice of red velvet cheesecake and still feel good after! :thumbsup2

Ehhh It's ok. However, Nashville has so many other great foods and restaurant choices why go to a run of a mill Cheesecake Factory?

Love the Cheesecake Factory. We always split too. Sometimes I even split with 2 kids to leave room for cheesecake afterwards.
