Is the character breakfast at Universal good?

I notice that there is a character breakfast at Universal Studios and you get reserved area for viewing the parade. Has anyone tried this package and is it worth it? Which characters will we meet? Is it really necessary to have a reserve spot for the parade? Is the parade good? The last time we were in Universal was 2007 and the parade was not great. Is it any different now? Would appreciate any feedback.

It is a totally new parade that was just unveiled this year. I don't think there is any need for a reserved spot for the parade and characters are plentiful throughout the parks during the day. We've had a few reports that the breakfast itself is just ho-hum but that the character interaction is great. Characters can change so it is tough to say what you'll get on your day. Apparently they are characters from the parade which include Despicable Me, Hop, Sponge Bob and Dora and Diego.

I wonder if VIP for the parade is applied to the Grinch breakfast as well?

Hmmm. It is a new thing this year so hard to tell. However, the Grinch breakfast has always been held at IOA and the parade is at the Studios.

I would imagine that there will the the Macy's parade and the new Superstar parade both going on, so who knows what the actual schedule will be.
