hey. my dad has a smart phone (t-mobile, not an iphone) and I was wondering...is the app that tells you wait times and stuff worth it? (Im not looking for a full review, just an opinion.) I know its almost ten dollars, which is pretty pricey for an app. we drive to disney once every couple of months, which means we would get plenty of use out of it. does it have any other features besides wait times, and are they accurate? help! :confused3

Just got back from WDW. I found the app to be very useful.

I used a tour plan in the am, but sort of winged it in the afternoons. It was nice to be able to see wait times, and they were very accurate. Another time we really used it was when rides went down. At MK, Pirates was down and I kept checking to see when it was back up. Same thing at Epcot with Turtle Talk with Crush. They were having technical problems, and rather than trek all the way across the park, you could just check it on the phone. Nice feature!

thank you! we are actually driving to the mk later today, to get away from the rowdy gasparilla parade down the street. it might come in handy. :)

Which one? There are tons of them out there.

Mobile Magic is only for certain Verizon phones not t-moblie.

Yes, it is, and it is $9.99 for six months...there are some really good choices for a lot less. I wouldn't have gotten it because of the price, but it doesn't work with our phones (Blackberry Curve, Blackberry Storm, and Droid). I also seem to recall this is the app that only works for the park you are currently in, which makes it pretty worthless to me...one of the reasons for looking at wait times is so we can decide if it is time to hop and if I can't check wait times for another park it's no help in making that decision.

Wish they would make the Dis app for Droid. I could put it on my iPod but since I would not have any wireless connection while there it would be kind of pointless as I would only have access to the offline data, not the live wait times. We did use Lines on our last trip (from touringplans.com) and had very good luck with it.

there is a free one that I have read really good things about here at touringplans

you can sign up for free to get the app.

A great big DITTO from me. I have a Droid, and love it, but I wish they would make the ETicket app for Android... Those of us who aren't iPhone people need some love, too!

Same here. I would definitely buy eticket for my Droid. I would have bought the Verizon app, but it only works on a few older phones.

I used Lines as well and had good luck with it. I think it's still free: http://m.touringplans.com. It's also fun to submit times.

I just went to the touring plans site and tried to sign up for the free test drive. I wonder if its still being offered because as soon as I put in my login info it took me to the payment page.

I double checked that I was signing in for the test drive and not the full account. :confused3

I got it thursday or friday can't remember, so I would think it is still working.

You need to register with touringplans.com to use it (which is free as long as you do a "free membership").

You can also use for free www.m.disneyworld.go.com this is the free component of the verizon/disney app.

I'll try again, I did make sure it was the free membership in fact on the page I was on it said click here for premium membership.

Edit 1: ok it worked I don't think it likes the opera mini browser

Edit 2: Really doesn't like the opera browser. I think if you use that browser it doesn't think its a mobile device and just reverts to the main touring plans site.

The parks don't have any wi-fi sites to upload information correct? I have an Ipod touch which that is the only way that app would help me.
