Is test track overrated?

I know Test Track is a big attraction but do people think it is overrated. Granted we stood in line for 90 minutes because it had broken down and all the fast passes were gone early but finally getting there, the ride did not do much, I can get more than that driving down the highway. The brake test per the video I expected to spin out of control but just got a little swerve, the bumps were slow and everything else was just nothing. Talked to others that we stood in line with and they thought the same thing, not worth the wait.

What is everyone's opinion on this, just wondering?

Not sure how I would feel about waiting 90 minutes for this. We went in September and it was a walk on...shoot sometimes we didn't even get off and just kept on riding. I love the ride but if I had to wait 90 minutes, I don't think I would love it as much! :p

to me it's overrated.::yes::

i've ridden it once and wouldn't wait for it (i rode single rider that time and walked on)

I like it and I think its fun, but I had expected more of a "thrill" ride, which I dont find it to be.

Personally I wouldn't wait in line for 90 minutes for ANY ride--if lines were that long, I would get a FastPass or skip it all together (yeah, I'm spoiled, I know I can always come back when WDW is less crowded).

I thought Test Track was exciting, but just the actual track time outside, not the indoor testing part. I thought the ride was generally fun though.

I hate to put it this way, but "Ain't no ride worth waiting 90 minutes for..."

I'm sure that took some of the lustre from your experience.....

But TT, all in all is a fun ride..............

I think it is overrated. I did enjoy it, but I expected it to be very intense and it wasn't at all. I would not stand in a long line for it. We had missed it the 1st year it was open, but got a fastpass for it this time.

Yes, yes, a thousand times YES!!!!

I agree with whoever said you can get more driving down your highway. I do not understand the huge lines for this...it must be to do with race cars and NASCAR being kind of a huge deal with some people.

I was sorely disappointed. There is NO WAY I'd call this one a thrill ride. Not even close.

Yes, I feel it is very overrated!!!

I got off the ride & said to myself "That is IT??" I guess I just expected more.

I would not wait 90 mins for that ride. I would skip it or grab a fast pass.

Personally I could really skip this ride all together, but my 4 yr old loves it, so we make a point to grab the fast passes early ::yes::

I thought it was a lame ride too, Ill be skipping it all together this coming trip in May- we too waited for a loooong time- all that annoying banging and clanging and stupid dummy stuff was incredibly annoying- I remember arguing with my husband while standing in line- about getting out of line and using FP for something better- it was a while ago (I forget the details of the argument), but some guy behind us started to explain FP to me (I didnt ask him and I knew how it worked) I probably shot him the look from hell cause he shut up- that line and that ride made me an ugly person, Im not proud, but Ill admit it.

I KNOW my car at home can do speeds far greater than that ride- and takes tighter corners too! LOL. But, If I were a 12 year old with no license, maybe I would think it was a cooler ride.

A roller coaster (being build) would have been a better choice IMHO.

Not as intense as I was expecting (dreading? LOL), but nevertheless, it was still fun!

You can blame GM for the low speed. They didn't want their name on the ride if it went 100MPH at the end like it was supposed to.

I like the ride, but it isn't thrilling. it would have been much better if things were a little more intense

I like it, but I would never ever wait in line for 90 minutes for a ride. Even my favorites wouldn't be worth it.

I do like the intensity of the outside ride - except the time we rode it in the rain and came back drenched - and the cm said - "Thank you for riding splash mountain 2!"

Ditto! :teeth:

DH and I waited for over an hour in May 2002 to ride TT and I found it to be extremely overrated. We skipped it last May. We have decided to give it another try this May. I think we will enjoy it much more if we do not have such a long wait this time. We should not have a problem as we will be there for the EMH test.

Test Track is a fun ride but also overrated. I can see how young kids with no license would LOVE it, but the parents are a little bored. I own a GM and I can go a lot faster than that thing! It would have been great if it would have gone 100mph, that would make it more exciting.

I still ride it though. I think the factory pre-show is neat to look at and gives it a testing feel. The beginning of the ride is also different and maintains the feel of a test car. Sure, the outside speed test is dissapointing, but the "thrill" part is knowing that you are not in control of the car. You have no steering wheel, gas pedal, or brake pedal. Just enjoy it! Put your hands up, let out a scream, and let the endorphins flow! It's just more fun that way.

My father works for GM, maybe I'm biased. ;)

I was totally disappointed in Test Track. It WAS a thrill ride, though...for my 5yoDS!;) Driving down the Saw Mill River Parkway with my DH is much more knuckle-whitening!

It shouldn't be billed a "headliner" or a "thrill ride" and we'd all be pleasantly surprised; it's not a bad ride. Pleasure is usually inversely proportionate to expectations; I have to learn how to lower mine!

I think it is fun, but certainly not GREAT (I liked the World of Motion much better), and I wouldn't wait 90 minutes for it (but then I won't wait longer than about 15 minutes for ANY ride, even my favorites)

For something that was supposed to be "the fastest ride in WDW", I was very disappointed. From all the stuff I had seen & heard, I was expecting something closer to RnR. Even the outside part was not that great. DS-10, said "Is that it?" We will not be going again.

That being said - The virtual ride afterwards is even worse. We waited much longer for that "ride" (I think it was our longest wait in the entire World) & was even more bored.
