Is talking Mickey worth the wait ?

Definitely worth the wait. We saw him at rope drop in December as well, waited maybe ten minutes because there were a couple big family groups in front of us. My youngest son was terrified initially, but when he saw his brother and sister having fun with Mickey he just had to give Mickey a hug and kiss.

I love talking Mickey! The experience was awesome! I think it's worth the wait. We were able to get a 4th FP+ for it. I love new things at Disney and talking Mickey may be the most under rated new attraction!

We usually FP this. I usually assign 1 day for just the FP character meet and greets. Mickey was a ton of fun and my kids loved him

I'm in the minority. I found it kind of creepy - and hard to have a conversation because of the delay.

Unless that's changed (a pause while what he's going to say gets entered or spoken or whatever they do to make him talk), you need to be prepared (and prepare the kidlets) to wait to let Mickey respond before they talk again, otherwise it gets to be a jumbled mess with his responses not matching what the kid (or you) JUST said but said three sentences or so ago.

It is absolutely worth it. One of my favorite pictures ever is this past trip- my 14 yo son with autism waited all year to see the talking Mickey, that's all he wanted. The smile and excitement on his face that the photo pass photographer captured is priceless. My DS wrote Mickey a letter and drew him a picture and Mickey took it, said "thanks pal", and told the CM to " put this someplace special". We have it on video too.

We love him. We are going in March Break and the kids are practising the "Hi, you are here" at home, imitating Mickey.

The kids planned to steal his line and say "Hi, you are here" before Mickey does. LOL

I agree with this. He is my girls' top choice for a FP+. It is possible to catch him with a 10 minute wait, but if you happen to be there and the wait is 10, you can exchange your FP for something else.

His waits were generally at least 30 and sometimes up to 50 when we were there in July, September, and February. Sometimes the waits get shorter, especially at night, but I would not chance it.

He is an absolute must-do for a three year old, and actually even my husband and 9 year old love him. We have had some great interactions with him. We have seen him at least six times and each time he was talking away - sometimes telling jokes, sometimes doing card tricks, sometimes helping the kids spread their wings and "fly."

It was seriously the most magical moment of our trip. My 4 year old talking to Mickey is something I will probably remember when I'm on my death bed (unless I have dementia).

So so worth it. We used a FP even though people say it's not necessary. I'm glad we did Bc Mickey is in the front of the park and the line is unpredictable during the day. At the best time we could go, the line was long so it worked for us.

Would your child be disappointed,bothered,annoyed if the others didn't talk to him like the talking Mickey did? At 3 that might be confusing?

Waits get long periodically throughout the day but you can also find random times when it's 10 minutes or less. Go during or immediately after a parade and you may be able to walk right in. We just did that last week. But yes he's totally worth seeing. It's always our one must do character meet and the kids always love it.

So far we have not been able to get this as an additional FP for the day. It's almost always been gone by the time our 3rd FP is used and we typically always start to add by lunchtime. I think we had the option once or twice for a time at the very end of the night but that was too late for our guys and ate up the ability to add anything in between.

I planned this for a FP on our last day, so it will be my girls last time meeting Mickey on the trip! I figured that way they won't question it when none of the others talk

Talking Mickey is AWESOME!! Highlight of our 18mo old first trip! The memory maker pictures are so special. We did it the first time (didn't know he spoke) on our way out of the park, around 10pm and there was no wait. The other times we had a FP. For during the day/am/evening hours- i would suggest a FP- the waits are long, the lines can be boring (nothing interactive to do), and since his time spent varies with different parties- I wouldn't do it without a FP.
