Thinking of booking for arrival night, but not a must do. We like the food at RFC, but been there done that, Our kids are older, 15/19 but still get a kick out of any place that looks better than Denny's :lmao: I might go the Palnet Hollywood route instead, but the food at T-Rex gets such great reViews and after 2 days of driving, I think we are going to like having something decent to eat. DS is a chicken fingers hot dog kid ( just read about the hot dogs no longer beef at WDW ) ANyway, either T-Rex ot PH are a treat as we do not have either near home, but we do have a RFC about 45 minutes away.

Thanks!

we have kids younger than yours so experience is a big issue for them. Our MO has been to go to DTD on arrival day for dinner and some shopping. We had been going to RFC on previous trips but I chose T-Rex for this past trip since it had just opened. I thought RFC had a better menu choices. The atmosphere was different and interesting at T-Rax but we probably won't go back.

When my kids are your kids' age, I'll probably opt for House of Blues and Raglan Road more often.

Thanks, when I look at pic's it looks just like RFC to me, interesting that RFC also maybe has the better food choices? Hmmmm, guess I will have to have the troops look over the menu maybe...

Food at RFC is much better. Also I find TRex to be exponentially louder than RFC (and you didn't think it was possible...:rotfl:)

:scared1: yeah, DH may not like the noise factor after driving from Chicago in Decemberm his nerves will more than likely be shot. May be best to just unwind at the resort, let the vibration of the road dissolve and prepare for the next day!:thumbsup2 If we are REALLY smart we will eat on the road wher it is more affordable, lol!

I disagree! I think TRex has MUCH better food choices and we liked the food MUCH MUCH more there than at RFC. We only go to RFC for the atmosphere, not so much the food. The food at TRex is pretty good and the portions are huge. We are going there on our upcoming trip in December. It is pretty loud though!

We have been to both..plenty. Since they are owned by the same company alot of the menu items were exactly the same...just different names. Same receipes. TRex is so loud though....we prefer RFC much more. It is very hard to have a conversation in Trex. The atmosphere is neat to see...that is it.

Isn't it interesting how we can all eat at the same places but have such different ideas about them?

I think the food at TRex is WAY better than Rainforest. We'll probably never go back to Rainforest, but I can't wait to get back to TRex for their tomato soup!

I agree and so did my kids. My dd wanted to go so bad for her bday so we did in Feb. and she never wants to go back. It was too loud she said. My kids love RFC, like they would move in we let them.

I hated the food, dh liked it but not enough to force the rest of us to go back. He got mushroom ravioli. My mil tasted it and thought it was ok so maybe it was just me that though it was gross.

The atmosphere is cool and it's worth a look through but that's it. The kids thought the boneyard was really cool.

Maybe it has to do with age of kids? My kids (13/11) prefer T Rex to RFC. Service was better, the tables were not as close together and it was no where near as noisy as RFC. Food was better too! Great choices! We are going back to Trex and skipping RFC forever!!!

We loved TRex. We thought the food was good, and yes, it is loud, but our kids loved it. We haven't been to RFC so we can't compare, but I'm taking DD there in Nov.

I prefer T-Rex over RFC. I think the service is much better and I like the menu choices. It is very loud....but I have DD7 and DS2 so they just add to the volume of the restaurant! We just went this past weekend and enjoyed our evening.

In comparison to T-Rex, RC is quiet! LOL. Seriously though, a "meteor shower" falling every half hour? Obnoxious. I think if we hadn't gone on the last night when we were super tired, we'd have enjoyed it more. Nerves were just shot, it was sensory overload.

Food at T-Rex was incredible, though! And the menu is so extensive, even the pickiest eaters will be able to find something that they like.

I really like T-Rex and in it there is a shop thats like build a Bear but its Build a Dino and you said your son likes chicken fingers there is chicken dinosaurs :goodvibes

Basically the same. T-Rex is just louder and more obnoxious.

We really like both. The menus are different. DBF really likes the ribs at T-Rex. I don't remember what DS ordered but he did eat it! (That in and of itself is a miracle) I had a burger. I was pregnant when we went and that is what I was craving at the time. It was good. Very large though.

I think it is pretty much the same. DS loved it, so I would go back if he wanted to, but I wouldn't go for any other reason. The food was okay. I kind offound something I settled on- flatbread app pizza. The service was painfully slow. At once point, ds suggested skipping dessert so we could leave!

I have to say that I agree. I'll go if it makes the kids happy, but, the food isn't good, the prices are high, it is SO very loud and crowded and crazy....etc...
