Is Supershuttle the cheapest?

We are considering flying this trip. We would be flying into Orange County Airport (that's the closest one right) and staying at the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites. Is the Supershuttle the cheapest mode of transportation? There will be 2 adults, dd4 and dd1.

Does DD1 need a car seat? We've never flown with kids so I have no idea what we are doing here. Do they need passports, we are flying within CA.

we are going in dec and super shuttle was $11 cheaper than disney shuttle. we were told we do need our carseats for our kids.

I assume you're asking if they need the safety seat on the airplane. Did you buy a seat for the 1yo? If so, I would definately bring the carseat on board, but I would also bring the carseat on board for the 4yo.

You will have to bring them anyway, you'll need them for the shuttle ride, and it can make it easier for you and them to have them in a familiar seat on the airplane.

We will be flying into LAX so our costs will be a little different from yours but here is what I have come up with.

Our roundtrip fare for the Supershuttle from LAX to our hotel in the Disneyland area is $128 total cost for 4 of us.

The Airport Bus will cost us $96 RT ($84 with the online coupon of $3 off per person.) The fare is cheaper from your airport.

Is the Disney Shuttle something different than the Airport Bus or are they the same?

Thanks

i booked thru disney travel company and they gave me two options to get from orange county to PPH. the first was the disneyland resort shuttle. it is a bus with bathroom, tv etc, the first cm told me it was better than supershuttle for these reasons. i called back to book it and the next cm told me it would be better for my party to take supershuttle (cheaper, could use seatbelts/carseats, could reserve the day before and get an entire shuttle to ourselves due to large party) instead of disney shuttle. they did not offer airbus as an option to us.

Super Shuttle is the cheapest. Its costs us about $10 per person each way (From Airport to hotel/ From Hotel to Airport). The hotel you are staying at is so close to the park that you wont need other transportation unless your going on a tour or something where the bus picks you up in front of your hotel, but yes it is the cheapest I found.

Also bring you car seat if you can cause each time i've taken supershuttle there has been no car seat. People just hold their kids on their lap. Oh and no you dont need the passport for your family members for super shuttle, but you will have them anyways if you are flying.

You wont need passports to travel anywhere in the US if you are from the US. Most people I know dont have them. The airport will require picture ID to get through security for the adults.

You don't need passports and I personally would take carseats for both kids. Although the flight is so short from here to there that DD1 might be ok without a carseat, however I would use one in the shuttle if it is more than 10-15 miles.

We used Supershuttle from SNA to the Desert Inn in May. It was $10/person each + tip. A Taxi on the trip before that was about $40 each way. So if there are 4 of you (not sure how they count the infant) it would be about the same cost.

You can probably check at www.supershuttle.com. We prebooked and paid through their website.

When we called about the Supershuttle we were told we didn't need carseats. I guess it would be a personal preference. We ended up using the Disney Express where you can't use carseats, so it didn't matter for us.

I think the Super Shuttle is cheaper, but I'm not sure.

My family of 5 regularly uses a shuttle. We've never used Super Shuttle but recently we had problems with Prime Time Shuttle, so we'll be trying Super Shuttle next time. I was told that we did not need a car seat in the shuttle. We might not take it our car seat next time as my daughter doesn't use it on the plane anymore so we'd only be taking it for the shuttle.

We have used Disney transportation once. It was easy enough to get to our onsite hotel, but getting back to the airport was hectic. I won't go with Disney transport again.

Super shuttle didn't require a carseat for our son although we brought one.

We are considering the Disneyland express -- what was hectic about the return?

I'm not sure if this is the norm, but when we took the Disneyland Express the first bus of the day was early and then the second bus was late. We missed the first bus by seconds... watched it drive off as we walked out of the terminal. Then the next bus took more than an hour to come.

For the trip back to the airport, we scheduled a pickup, since we weren't staying on property, and were the first to be picked up. Hooray. We were all sitting together and were settled in, but then when we got to the DL Hotel, they made us get off and move to another bus, which was already packed. It was kind of a pain.

We have done both a shuttle and the disneyland bus. They have different appeal. The problem with the bus is that it stops at DLH first and if you are staying elsewhere you may have to transfer to another bus, then it depends on where your stop is how long it will take. Also, Shuttles fill up quick and go, as opposed to waiting for the bus to meet its schedule.

On the other hand if you get a shuttle with people going different places it can take longer........

Personally unless I am staying at DLH I would not use the bus.

We are staying at the GC....would you use the bus then?

I called Grayline today and asked them how long the bus takes to get you to your hotel and they told me usually about 30 minutes...????

I have seen posts where people get off the bus at DLH and walk across to GC, otherwise I would check the schedule and find out if you have to transfer and if it stops at GC after DLH or goes other places first.

I am curious... for those of you that have said that SuperShuttle said you didn't need a carseat... was because of the age / heighth / weight of the child... if this is the case does anyone know what the restrictions are?

TIA!

They don't require a carseat because it is considered public transportation or a bus. It is not because a 1 or 2 year old baby would be as safe without a carseat as they would be with one . The Super Shuttle is the same thing as riding a van in your own city....if you are comfortable NOT using a carseat with your child on freeways etc then you don't need to use one on Super Shuttle either.

Last fall, we strapped both of our huge Britax carseats onto the van seats and everything worked just fine.

I will call them tomorrow. Walking to GC will NOT be an option....2 small children, 2 strollers, at least 3 bags, 1 HUGE carseat and misc other stuff too.....:headache:
