Is straight talk phone service worth it?

I was looking for a lower cost phone service and was wondering if their price for unlimited talk/text/data service. Please let me know your experiences.

My husband uses straighttalk. It was supposed to be a temporary thing, but the reception is great and the price is slightly lower than my cell company. Plus, his is unlimited talk/text/data. It's only $45 per month. We live in a rural area, and straighttalk picks up even when we are in the middle of the woods. Now that they have a larger selection of phones to choose from I'm considering using them myself when my contract expires. FYI, if you refill via their website, they sometimes run promotional discounts that you won't find in stores. I hope this helps.

My sister just switched to StraightTalk from Sprint and she's thrilled with it. She's traveled all over the country with no issues with it and hasn't had a single complaint.

Thank you. So much. We live in WY and have few options of Providers. But think we could save a lot. Right now my husband and I don't have any data any with a corporate discount. We are paying 100. To add data it would be an extra 45.00 each month.

DH andI both have straight talk and have no issues. We ported our numbers from Sprint. I reccomend them to everyone.

We are a Straighttalk family. Never had a problem with service or phones. Highly recommend. Can't beat the price.

We used straighttalk for about a year and a half with no problems whatsoever. They were great. Just so you know, they do have a $35/mo plan (or did?) with 1000 minutes/1000 texts. That's the plan we used since we didn't really need the unlimited.

The only thing that got us to change was we were ready to upgrade to smart phones, and though virginmobile would work better for our needs (which it has so far about a month in) It's about the same price, but with less minutes and unlimited data/texts. Dh and I never came close to the minutes cap at 1000 minutes, but we hit the text message one a few times.

I just switched to staight talk and I love it! I bought an iPhone on eBay and purchased just the sim card from straight talk. It was very easy to set up and I get a great signal.

I'm confused. How does this work? I have a sim card AT&T iPhone but I thought Straight Talk ran on Verizon that does not use sim cards. I llove this idea but don't understand how it works.

So how do you like Straight talk as oppose to Sprint? I have sprint now and I have a few dead spots I was looking into straight talk due to price also

From what I've read, Straightalk is basically a wholesaler of cellular service. They don't have their own network, they resell the service from ATT, Sprint, tmobile and Verizon. So it depends on where you live and what phone you buy as to what network you will connect to and whether you need a sim card or not. I want to use ATT and now they allow you to buy a sim for att to put in your unlocked iphone which is what I am thinking about doing. I think you can also buy a sim for tmobile.

Is it worth it? That is quite personal. I don't need to be connected to the internet everywhere I go for every second of the day. With 3 cell phones in the house, it would still cost $150/month. I only text and connect with wifi. I don't pay for minutes I'll never use and don't pay for data I'll never use. Costs me $10/month for 2 phones for ATT GoPhone (3rd phone is Tracfone that costs less than $10/month, I should switch that to GoPhone and it would be $5.)

No collection of phones is worth half of a car payment per month to me.
