Is Stitch really that bad?

I think that it can be very scary for young children. My child (5) loved Space Mountain but hated Stitch. We had watched the movie but it was scary being locked into place and having the lights out for an extended time. I enjoyed it when it was Alien but now it is blah.

It's the worst ever. I hate saying that because I know someone likes it (I think) but it really is bad. It's a shame because the movie is so well-loved.

It is a shame! At least I'm looking forward to the character meal now; I was on the fence about it when I made the ADR.

It's not as scary as alien was, only because you know it's Stitch. Alien was such a cool attraction. I miss it. I love Lilo and Stitch but the attraction is pretty lame in comparison to ExtraTerrorestrial.

Alien scarred me for life.

Stich is just fine if it starts raining and you can't make it to Carousel of Progress without getting drenched.

99.9% of rides with shoulder harnesses are roller coasters that have inversions. The harnesses are there to prevent you from falling out.

Stitch's Great Escape has shoulder harnesses. But your seat never moves. So why does it have a shoulder harness? To prevent everybody from getting up and leaving during the show.

I've finally done everything at MK (treehouse was the last thing). Nothing is as bad as Stitch.

Please don't think I am horrible. One of the funniest things I ever saw happened on Stitch. My Mother does not like being scared so when it was no longer Alien ( which would cause anyone to panic) I thought she would think it cute. She has had back and neck surgery so sitting in one spot is a ride we could do together. That burp made her gag for 10 minutes after it happened and of course we were locked in. I couldn't stop laughing. I had no idea it would do that to her. She might forget about Splash or Dumbo but never EVER STITCH! She avoids that like the plague...I can't even trick her about getting on it...

But I am also glad Alien no longer exists. While I think it was an awesome sensory experience...I didn't know what to expect. I mean I knew Alien was scary but I also knew the ride didn't move..so how bad could it be...it scared the blankety blank out of me. I didn't know they let him loose on the attraction.

It is. I told my sister and brother when we did an adult only trip that it was, they insisted on going on it and all apologized to me when we got off. My kids wanted to do it again this past trip in Nov. so we did, and they all remembered why we skip it. Unless you like having someone burp in your face or pain in your shoulders, avoid, avoid, avoid.

We usually ride it. (Please don't throw things!) My 9 and 7 yr old boys enjoy it. I wouldn't ride it if I were on an adults only trip, but I do think it's mildly entertaining. I hear many complaints about the harnesses that push down on to your shoulders being too tight. We avoid that by putting our hands on our shoulders as the harnesses are lowered so they can't come down all the way. There are moments of complete darkness and the whole place stinks (on purpose, for the show). But, if your kids liked the movie, give it a try. The good news is your wait in line won't be long!

Thank you for the helpful advice! I will try to remember the shoulder thing. Two of my kids are close in age to yours, so we'll probably go for it.

In my opinion, it's not that bad. It's not my favorite attraction but it's still a must do a couple of times every trip. But at my short height combined with the way I slouch down in the chair once the armrests slip down into place (I put my hands on top of my shoulders to help it stay up a little higher), I miss the warmth and the smell of the Stitch burp part. I love Stitch so much that getting to see the cute animatronic is worth it to me. It's not really scary and I think I've been going on it since I was little when it first came out. But if your kids have sensory overload problems, it may be too much at first. There's a lot of noises, some flashing lights, and you also include some tactile and smell elements.

A couple of times every trip! We should at least try it once then.

My kids don't have sensory issues, but it was sensory overload for me, just watching it on YouTube (from what I could see).

I'm sure I would have appreciated Alien, had I been older, but nope. Nightmares.

We are huge disney lovers, but there are 2 rides that we feel they could do so much more with. One is Stitch and the other is Jungle Cruise. As far as stitch, it is just plain boring to us. I think it's worth trying once, and then if your kids want to go back, fine. Our kids never asked to go back.

After avoiding it because of all the bad reviews, DH and I finally tried it out last month- YES, it is terrible. It's not scary for adults but I can definitely see kids being scared- I wouldn't take mine on it.

You're locked into an uncomfortable seat, it seems like forever, there's like smoke or something in the room, it stinks. I told DH never again!
