Is Spring Break really THAT busy?

We're going to Disney next week (Epcot Thurs and MK Fri) and it looks like all the crowd calendars are reporting very high crowds but I know those aren't always accurate. Are the crowds really THAT bad at Disney or is it just the most popular rides that will see longer wait times and those that don't plan ahead with dining reservations and Fastpasses will have the longer wait?

We're taking our toddler so we plan to stick to family-friendly attractions: Fantasyland and the kiddie rides around the castle, Buzz Lightyear and all that. This is our first time visiting during a supposedly "busy" time so I guess I'm just not sure what to expect.

In short, YES it is. RD is your best friend. Expect standby waits in FL to hit 30 min by 11:00 am.

Yep. It really is that busy. But, if you're there for rope drop and have a solid plan, it is completely managable.

Awesome, that's exactly what we plan to do! Rope drop, then ride as many rides and meet as many characters as we can in the morning and by the time it starts getting busy it will be naptime for our daughter and shopping for me. Then we'll have a late lunch and Fastpasses in the afternoon so that by evening the lines (hopefully) won't be as long. Though my daughter might end up choosing to ride the carousel and Teacups all day, who knows!

Here now and it's quite chaotic. We're in MK today and FL by noon was wall to wall people. Small rides were under 30 min but all bigger headliners were 1 hour plus even by mid morning. Very hot and humid too which doesn't help. RD is your friend but plan to be out of FL by noon at the latest.

We plan to be out of FL by 10 am as we have a FP for Pooh from 10-11 (though I might switch that to the afternoon). We just plan on doing the Ariel ride, Dumbo, Barnstormer and then the character meets (Ariel, Daisy/Minnie and maybe Goofy/Donald). I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that I can get a 4th Fastpass for It's a Small World in the evening but if not then we'll just wait in line. I hear they added some interactive features in the line so perhaps it won't be that bad

Went Spring Break 2014. Rope Drop + an awesome touring plan = great time. We had a blast. Wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Be realistic and have a plan and you should be fine :)
