Is something going on next week (hotels sold out)?

GCH and DLH seem mostly sold out and PP is getting there as well.

I don't think I've ever seen the Disney hotels this packed on a random off-season week.

There could always be a private convention of some sort hosted at Disney or in the area as well if your looking at the time after NAMM moves out? As for during the conventions it's not unusal to see hotels sold out but not much of a park attendance bump. The Disney hotels are within walking distance to the convention center, companies can put people up there as an added perk. I know people who've attended conferences and been put in the GCH (super smart people working well-paying jobs!) even though they never went to the parks.

It looks like the NAMM show is over on Sunday? I wonder why that would affect the following week.

I went to the NAMM show once for a job interview and it was the most insane convention I’ve ever been to. The hotel where the convention was held was a complete madhouse!

Lunar New Year starts this week and there is a DVC event on Thursday. Would that increase hotel bookings for the week?

Oh gosh, I really hope it isn't packed at the parks this week too...our trip starts this Sunday with days in the park all week.

We’re heading there Thurs-Sun of next week. We just booked our trip two weeks ago, and there was still availability at every hotel we looked at (including the DLH and GCH). Prices didn’t seem outrageous either. What days were you looking at? Maybe it’s booked up earlier in the week?

I booked off-site, most hotels off-site for next week seemed fine with regular rates, even starting Monday night, so the NAMM people seem to mostly clear out by Sunday when the convention ends.

GCH seems booked solid all week (which I still find a bit odd for off-season) while DLH seemed booked pretty tight early in the week.

I'm wondering if some NAMM people can use their corporate rates even after the convention is over and decided to stay a bit longer with family? Or maybe there is something specific happening at GCH, so spillover is filling up the other hotels.

The other thing is the Disney property rates seem pretty decent (relatively speaking) since it's off-season so maybe more people just decided to splurge and stay on-site.

It might have something to do with the cheap tickets combined with the 25% off hotel rates and passholder packages they have going right now. I just got back yesterday and had a suite at DLH that was either 20 or 25% off and included fastpasses and a $20 dining credit.
