Is something going on 01/29

The park hours for next Friday (01/29) are an hour later than the previous fridays in both DL & DCA, and are even later than on Saturday 01/30. Is there something going on this day and that's why they're open later?


Thanks for any responses. My DH has to be in Anaheim Friday and Saturday so we're just taking a quick weekend trip and it has me wondering if it's going to be packed because somethings going on or there's a big event in the area!

thanks! too bad i can't actually be at disneyland on my birthday. oh well...we're moving back to california in just a few weeks and then we'll only be 7 hours from DLR, woohoo!

i can't think of what might be happening at DLR to change the hours....the last time i was there on a day when the hours were affected was the day Miley Cyrus was having her birthday party there....everybody got kicked out of the park 3 hours early....grrrrr!!!

I've googled and googled and the only thing I'm coming up with is that, that's a possible date of opening for Captain EO. A few blogs and such are reporting that, as well as the San Francisco Chronicle (not sure how accurate any of the blogs are). It just doesn't seem like enough time though because they just closed HISTA, and I would expect huge news about the show re-opening, but I suppose that does explain why both parks are expecting crowds and staying open an hour later?

It doesn't appear that that is in Disneyland. I just googled 01/29/10 and Jonas Brothers and Nick Jonas has a concert that night: Nick Jonas & The Administration with Diane Birch Friday 01/29/10 at 6:30 PM The Wiltern Los Angeles, CA

That date is what has been Tweeted by many at the Captain EO opening, so it wouldn't surprise me. And, yeah, that could be reason enough to stay open later.

Yes there is something special on Friday for us it is our 27th Wedding Anniversary and we are flying all the way from Australia just to have Breakfast with Minnie and Friends or can it be be for the Micechat folks who are here for the weekend as well.
