Okay, I will admit upfront that this has little to do with trip planning. But

WHERE THE HECK HAS MY TICKER GONE?

I have had 6 of then in a year. One week out and ..... Please tell me that it's really there and I just cant see it for some reason! :worship:
:badpc::furious:

Well it looks like it's back again. I obviously shouted loudly enough! :rotfl:

Oh dear. What a waste of thread space!

Nevermind - they are back now - so whilst we are at it - lets have a Dance - just ONE WEEK till you surprise your daughter!!

:banana::banana::dance3::dance3::banana::banana:

I am so excited for you - I do hope the surprise is everything you hope for xxx

Thank you zippy! :dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Bit of a joke that I have the teacups as her ticker - and they will be closed when we are there :upsidedow

In second-guessing mode as to whether this is going to be too much for her to take in :headache: I must NOT worry about it, I must not worry about it, I must not .... :rotfl:

I would love to hear about yours! I am getting a bit edgy now. You know how you worry about silly things right at the end. But I knew from the outset that there is always a certain degree of risk involved with surprising kids so I have prepared myself that the initial reaction may be one of shock, but the overall reaction will be a good one. Thank you. :goodvibes

And I am so glad my tickers are back. Having watched my (numerous) tickers going from 1 year and x months, dropping the year, the months etc I just HAVE to see it going from x weeks to days only. Don't know if that makes sense. My mind is tired, lol!

Oops!

We planned this 12 months in advance. Nobody thought we would pull it off.

The day before i packed all the bags and put them in the shed. That night the kids had done their homework and were in bed by eight,perfect.
5.30 the next morning i set out the cases downstairs whilst DH woke them up and said they there was something for them to see,with me waiting with video camera.When they opened the living room door (still half asleep) they saw the cases and i said "your not going to school,where would you like to go?" Both together in shock they said Disney?.
Their faces made all that planning worth while.It will be a day that we will never ever ever forget.

No matter what your DDs reaction is she will remember it for the rest of her life, and tell the story a million times:cloud9:

That's kind of how I am hoping it will turn out, while trying to keep a grip on realistic expectations. It was much easier when I booked and planned this last year, 17 months ago. I didn't have people thinking I won't pull it off as aside from the DIS, the only people who know are those at work and my siblings who don't live locally and would never breathe a word (they only found out very recently).

I am getting her from school on Friday I finish work at 12 so will come home and pack quickly. My dad thinks it is a surprise trip to Tenerife :rotfl: Shame, he is so enthusiastic about life but would be too excited not to drop very obvious hints about it. ;). He is coming at 2 pm to get the cases in the boot of the car. DD loves hotels so when I pick her up she is finding out that as a special treat we are going to stay in a hotel for the night (Glasgow Airport). I will break the news by way of a video I have made for her that evening and we fly out the next day. I decided not to try and do check in with an overwhelmed child should it come to that. I wanted to sneak her Minnie Ears from her room tonight but I see she has her toys out and one of the cuddly toys is wearing them. :rotfl: The details are in my PTR on the UK TR board if you want a read.

I'm so glad you posted. :goodvibes
